    Metallurgist

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Managing Metallurgy Department.
    • Defining and monitoring welding procedures for JGA.
    • Leading, directing, and supporting all aspect of the metallurgical laboratory.
    • Cost center planning and management.
    • Monitoring and analysing key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to senior management.
    • Recognizes material and process deficiencies, develops, and implements innovative solutions.
    • Responsible for carrying out supplier audits in relation to heat treatment, foundry, forging and welding procedures.
    • Incoming material testing and qualification.
    • Responsible for carrying out metallurgical failure analysis and reporting of findings.
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders to optimize the processes.
    • Participating in root cause failure investigation for process and product improvement during warranty dispute related to metallurgical issues; and
    • Directing and supporting continuous improvement projects in various departments.

    Minimum Skills required.

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical/Engineering.
    • Must have 5 years’ experience working in a similar position in heavy Engineering environment.
    • Extensive knowledge of metallurgy, welding, and non-destructive testing.
    • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office suite.
    • Must have own transport and valid license; and

    Behavioural Competencies required.

    • Must have sound decision making, organizational skills as well as strong customer service focus;
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business; and
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as ability to work independently and self-directed.

    Training Instructor

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Giving detailed inputs to develop and produce the actual operational training programs in the absence of curriculum development and multimedia production personnel;
    • Conducting training classes / coaching of a high standard, which meets the customer expectations.
    • Ensure training sessions cover specific topics as stipulated by the Joy Global course structures;
    • Ensure the effectiveness of the training is measured by written and practical assessments/ evaluations / reactionaries to evaluate training progress and to what extent the gap was closed;
    • Complying with all legislations and standard generating bodies;
    • Conducting special training classes required by the customers that are not provided for in the planned training schedule; and
    • Coaching customers and Joy personnel in the safe and efficient application, operation, and maintenance of Joy Global equipment.

    Minimum Skills required.

    • Grade 12/N3;
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an operator on Joy Global related equipment;
    • Extensive in-depth knowledge of various disciplines, including, mining methods and equipment;
    • Miner/Blasting ticket would be an advantage;
    • Must have working knowledge of South African Mine Health and Safety Act;
    • Computer literate in MS Office suit, with good report-writing skills; and
    • Valid Drivers’ license and own reliable vehicle.

    Behavioural Competencies required.

    • Ability to train/ coach; to transfer knowledge and skills effectively;
    • Strong customer service orientation; and
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

    Clerk

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Daily invoicing of PODs – Stamped and signed.
    • IEPC Monitoring and supporting CSR team with documentation and IEPC reports.
    • Follow up on items delivered but not invoiced.
    • Scanning and attachment to SAP of all documents.
    • Creation of Credit notes – in accordance with Company rules and governance.
    • Process planning of all internal and external audit requirements.
    • Enforcing KMC Governance and Maintaining KMC policies.
    • Do Service order entries on the Customer Procurement Portals
    • Liaise and assist the R&R CSRs daily with regards to the day to day updating, processing of R&R / CEP information.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Minimum Skills and experience required

    • Grade 12
    • Customer Service-related Qualification will be advantageous.
    • SAP knowledge
    • Microsoft Office – Excel knowledge
    • Customer contact and relations experience
    • Order process flow experience beneficial

    Behavioural Competencies required

    • Must be able to work independently without supervision.
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
    • Self starter and can perform well under pressure.
