    Financial Manager

    Purpose: To assist the Head of Finance with various accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. To enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

    Key Functional Areas (but not limited to):

    • Assist in overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of a supporting structure adequate for recording and processing day-to-day transactions to achieve the department’s goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership and mentoring to all staff in the finance department ensuring they are adequately skilled and trained to achieve success in their respective roles.
    • Manage and ensure that all production processes and procedures are followed to ensure that the production goals are met.
    • Develop and drive continuous improvement.
    • Assist in the management of various financial accounting functions, including inventory, debtors, creditors, VAT, fixed assets, general ledger, company taxation, cash flow, forex and insurance.
    • Review and submission of weekly and monthly results to Libstar.
    • Review and submission of monthly management accounts to Libstar.
    • Preparation on quarterly board packs.
    • Budgeting and forecasting.
    • Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
    • Facilitating the half-year and year-end audit process (June and December)
    • Liaison with external and internal auditors.
    • Governance and Compliance including improving internal controls.
    • Performance management of Finance staff, including setting of KPI’s.
    • Manage finance related systems and internal controls.
    • Assist with the management of Net working capital and forex exposure
    • Provisional and income tax computation
    • Ensure tax and legal Compliance.
    • Assist with ad hoc projects.

    Role Capabilities:

    Education and Required Knowledge:

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant

    • Experience within the FMCG environment would be advantageous.
    • High level of Computer literacy, especially Excel and ERP systems.(Knowledge of Syspro would be advantageous)

    Food Technologist Graduate

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To ensure the Environmental Monitoring Schedule is adhered. To investigate non-conformances to ensure that the cause of the fault is understood, and preventative action is taken to prevent recurrence. Ensuring any non-conforming material is controlled. The graduate food technologist will be required to work on a wide range of tasks within the quality assurance department, assisting the other Food Technologists to ensure that the system in place is in accordance with BRCGS requirements. This role will include implementation and update of systems.

    Job Objectives:

    • Investigations of Internal NCR’s to be performed swiftly and in accordance with the company procedures and policies.
    • To ensure the environmental monitoring schedule is adhered to.
    • Deadlines of tasks must be met.
    • Implementation of BRCGS in the organization and on-going updates of procedures in the company to allow for on-going BRCGS certification.

    Key Functional Areas:

    • Non-conformance Investigations / Communications
    • Environmental testing + Allergen Swabbing
    • Review testing results against specification
    • QC Verifications
    • Glass and Hard plastic trending
    • Customer service: COAs/COCs, shelf life extensions, Questionnaires
    • GMP audits & day to day monitoring of GMP practices in the factory
    • Providing Operational support when needed
    • Review and update procedures
    • Other: Training, Staff engagement meetings, Traceability studies, mock recalls, mass balances, consumable ordering, requesting on-going supplier approval documentation

    General:

    • Proficient in Microsoft office products (excel, word, outlook)

    Required Prior Learning/ Experience:

    • B. Tech/ Advanced Diploma in Food Consumer Sciences, B.Tech / Advanced Diploma Food Technology/ B. Sc Food Science / B. Sc Biotechnology or other relevant science related degree. Copies of qualifications must be submitted with a CV
    • Minimum 0 - 1 years relevant industry experience
    • Prior training / experience in internal auditing, HACCP, BRCGS standard will put a candidate at an advantage.

    Cost Accountant

    Purpose of the Job: The Cost Accountant will support operations by providing information that will aid decision making and drive profitability, operational efficiency, and effective cost control. The Cost Accountant will identify and drive system improvement opportunities and ensure strong controls are in place.

    Key Functional Areas:

    • Perform product and customer costings
    • Compile costing information and perform adhoc costings as required
    • Analyse margin and costs and identify where improvements can be made to profitability
    • Calculating production recovery costs and ensuring BOM’s are accurate
    • Coordinate inventory counts and resolve variances
    • Ensure strong inventory controls are in place to safeguard inventory and drive accuracy
    • Complete landed cost calculations for imported raw materials and ensure inventory is valued correctly
    • Review the accuracy of inventory related transactions and assist with queries
    • Review WIP to ensure accuracy, investigate reasons for variances and drive corrective actions
    • Analyse material usage and waste and drive corrective actions
    • Compile and maintain reports to track performance and KPI’s
    • Preparing information and reports for business presentations
    • Assist with compiling annual budgets and rolling forecasts
    • Providing systems support to users and maintaining master data
    • Identify and drive system improvements and assist with special projects
    • Prepare SOP documentation and provide training to staff on systems implemented

    Required Prior Learning/ Experience:

    • Bcom Cost and Management Accounting or Finance related degree (Studying towards CIMA advantageous)
    • At least 1-3 years of experience in a financial or cost accounting role

    Finished Goods Warehouse Manager

    Purpose: The Finished Goods Warehouse Manager leads the finished goods warehouse team to ensure department metrics are achieved in a safe, timely, quality, cost-efficient, and productive manner. The Finished Goods Warehouse Manager is accountable for the achievement of service quality and reliability, product food safety, stock integrity, productivity, and HSE compliance.
