    General Engineering Supervisor – Electrical & Instrumentation

    Job Description

    Introduction

    • This position will be based at the Phola Plant close to Ogies in Mpumalanga

    Description

    • The purpose of this position is to ensure that Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance and services are provided in line with organisational and client requirements.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Investigate, diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements and order spares according to Company procedures.
    • Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations and analyse breakdowns of the previous shift.
    • Over-inspect subordinates in their daily activities to ensure that maintenance is done according to organisational standards requirements.
    • Coordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.
    • Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend or implement improvements and changes to maximise operations.
    • Communicate equipment information and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimise production delays.
    • Ensure that all installations and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completion.
    • Attend to breakdowns immediately to minimize downtime.
    • Determine work schedules in conjunction with other engineering / process teams to ensure availability and optimal utilisation of equipment to the relevant sections and consult with production teams on maintenance activities that affects production.
    • Support the achievement of production and maintenance performance levels.
    • Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability

    Qualification Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Valid Section 13 / Section 26 (D) Trade Test Certificate (Instrumentation and/or Elect)
    • Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1
    • Own transport to attend to call outs
    • MV switching competency

    Experience & Skills Requirements:

    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance with at least 3 - 4 years’ supervisory experience 
    • English language proficiency 
    • Time management skills  
    • Employee Relations training 
    • Supervisory training  
    • Profibus and Profinet maintenance experience 
    • Finance for non-financial managers training  
    • Computer literate in MS Office

    Human Resources Business Partner

    Introduction

    • This position will be based at the Kroondal operations site.

    Description

    • This position is responsible for ensuring that the Human Resources function remains a Business Partner in achieving the Company’s objectives. The HR Business Partner will be accountable to provide a comprehensive HR Service for the allocated region, with a core function of the role to effectively manage Industrial Relations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversees day-to-day HR administration activities
    • Facilitates the implementation of HR Policies and Procedures by advising and assisting internal stakeholders on processes, actions and best practice to ensure that the organisation adheres to sound labour practices
    • Participates in recruitment and selection processes and represents HR in interviews to ensure procedural fairness
    • Assists with the coordination of Training and Development activities
    • Assists with the coordination of Wellness Programs according to organisational requirements
    • Ensures that labour disputes and grievances are minimised by maintaining effective procedures and ensuring adequate communications between management and employees
    • Responsible for monitoring industrial relations indicators e.g. number of disputes, grievances and recommending corrective action
    • Facilitates and participates in Employee Relations related meetings and enhances Employer, Employee and Union relationships
    • Facilitates and participates in the negotiations process on substantive and operational issues
    • Provides guidance and support to Management on Disciplinary and Grievance processes, and monitors the proceedings of all hearings to ensure consistency and fairness at all times
    • Co-ordinates and conducts the necessary pre-hearing investigations as required
    • Consults with Legal Counsel as required on Labour related issues in preparation for litigation
    • Prepares and represents Minopex at various Labour related cases at the CCMA or Labour Court
    • Ensures adherence to Employment Equity Programs
    • Timely and accurate completion of all required HR records and reports
    • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to legislation and organisational HR & IR practices
    • Builds relationships across the business value chain by sharing business information and knowledge

    Qualification Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management / Industrial Psychology / Law
    • Postgraduate Management Development Program will be advantageous
    • Postgraduate Certificate in Labour Law will be advantageous

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience as an HR Generalist / Business Partner in the mining industry
    • Specialised skills in managing Industrial Relations within the mining industry
    • Strong knowledge and experience of Union relations
    • Knowledge of Labour Law
    • Experience with CCMA and Labour Court procedures
    • Strong knowledge and experience across the various HR functions
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1

    Process Shift Supervisor

    Introduction

    • This position will be based at a site in Phalaborwa.

    Description

    • The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the effective supervision of the required shift to ensure that shift processes are operational, controlled and maintained

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure compliance with Minopex Health and Safety responsibilities.
    • Identify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and take preventative measures.
    • Comply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards and procedures of the job.
    • Adhere to lock out procedures at all times.
    • Comply with legal and operational requirements.
    • Carry out visual inspection of the working area to ensure workplace safety.
    • Ensures compliance to statutory legislation and organisational requirements.
    • Investigate, diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements.
    • Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations and analyse previous shift information.
    • Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.
    • Report equipment efficiencies according to production requirements.
    • Communicate equipment availabilities and changes to relevant stakeholder to minimize production delays.
    • Attend to breakdowns immediately to minimize down time.
    • Ensure the adherence to the specified process parameters within the respective sections.
    • Identify causes of spillage in the plant equipment and generate suggestions to eliminate the spillage.
    • Ensure adherence to Process Standards and Procedures, COP Master File, SHEQ and legislative requirements.
    • Continuously monitor production information to ensure the attainment of shift objectives.
    • Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability.

    Qualification Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • National Certificate Mineral Processing Level 2 or equivalent Mineral Processing qualification will be advantageous

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Process Section Supervisor
    • Milling, magnetic separation, dewatering experience (thickener and filtration) essential
    • English language proficiency
    • Computer Literate in MS Office
    • Presentation skills
    • Time management skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Employee Relation and People Management skills
    • Supervisory skills
    • Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1
