    Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Officer - Gauteng

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB 

    • Support the DCM in aligning the EPP with the HSE organogram and appointments.
    • Provide and advise DCM’s and staff on OHS&E compliance matters.
    • Ensure compliance with Teraco’s operational HSE specification pertaining to contractor management.
    • Implement Teraco’s HSE incident management procedure.
    • Advise the DCM on the management and control of the requirements of the waste management plan.
    • Inspect projects in relation to the HSE specification (segregated and non-segregated projects). Ensure all deviations are addressed timeously.
    • Support the employer in his/her duty to ensure a safe work environment to contractors, staff, visitors, and clients.
    • Represent Teraco in an advisory or nominated position as a member of the OHS&E committee meetings on matters regarding workplace health, safety, and environment.
    • Validate contractors HSE induction prior to commencing work on Teraco premises.
    • Participate in contractor risk management process i.e., risk assessment, review of method statement, and the communication thereof.
    • Verify the implementation and compliance of OHS&E work procedures and plans.
    • Compile monthly OHS&E reports and submit to Head of OHS&E operations for Environmental, Social, Governance and Environmental (ESG) and Board reporting.
    • Validate that applicable HSE inspections are done as per the schedule.
    • Ensure all OHS&E signs and notices are prominently displayed on site.
    • Enforce and maintain good housekeeping principles with Teraco staff and contractors.
    • Inform Head of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental operations of any OHS&E training needs of employees on premises.
    • Ensure all health, safety and environment reps conduct a monthly OHS&E rep inspection of their work areas.
    • Ensure that all teams conduct a weekly OHS&E toolbox talk.
    • Participate in all OHS&E audits, conducted internally, either by third parties and/or clients. Action any External or Client initiated OHS&E audit findings within the timeline and to the required quality.
    • Provide OHS&E support to Project Management during Construction Activities.
    • Work after hours and weekends as per Teraco operational requirements and Teraco policy.
    • Performing of daily task inspection and planned job observations.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12
    • Accredited Btech Tertiary qualification in OHS&E.
    • A relevant Health & Safety registration (SACPCMP or equivalent registration) will be advantageous.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in OHS&E operations, maintenance and/or construction.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Good communication and reporting skills. Both verbal and written.
    • Be willing to travel – multiple projects in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg. Valid Driver’s License, code 08 minimum.

    Office Coordinator/Administrator - JHB East Rand

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    • Manage & purchase office consumables, stationery, and supplies.
    • Allocate minimum stationery pack to new joiners.
    • Responsible for submitting catering orders via Mr D and catering suppliers for internal training and meetings, internal meetings and events etc.
    • Assist Office Manager in set up for key events (Strat Session, Board Events etc)
    • Raising purchase orders, submitting invoices and following up with finance department regarding payments processed.
    • Daily walk around and inspection of canteens, meeting rooms and general office area.
    • Escalate any concerns to Office Manager for action.
    • Build relationship with cleaning supervisor to address and cleaning concerns.
    • Assist the team with any adhoc errands
    • Relieve other reception/ office management staff across Isando campuses i.e. sick leave, training, annual leave etc.
    • Log tickets and ensure maintenance of the office areas is carried out
    • Assist the Office Manager with ad hoc requests.

    Learning & Development Manager - Gauteng

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    • Develop and maintain the Teraco Learning and Development Strategy in line with Teraco Data Centre Operations culture, Operational Excellence, continuous improvement & leadership development (assessments)
    • Hold Leadership accountable for staff development, job observations, mentoring and oversight
    • Schedule regular Engineering simulations & Commissioning exposure for certain roles to partake in In-Service-Testing
    • Develop career paths to grow strong technical resources – requirements per job level (eg technical, operational and management skills)
    • Develop Role Based training programs: Designs role based (e.g. DC Coordinators / Technicians per site) training plans, including training objectives, that enhance the technical skills of employees. The programme should include refreshers, testing of competency and training efficacy through planned and unplanned Job Observations
    • Deliver training sessions: Present classroom-based training sessions
    • Evaluate training effectiveness: Assesses the effectiveness of training programs by analysing feedback from participants and evaluating the impact on employee performance via planned and unplanned on-the-job- assessments by leadership.
    • Oversee development of training materials: Creates training materials such as manuals, presentations, and other resources that support the training programs. This will be completed with the assistance of the Subject Matter Experts within the business.
    • Maintain the training program and keep up to date with industry developments: Stays current with developments in the industry and incorporates this knowledge into training programs. The industry knowledge will be gained by maintaining close relationships with the SMEs within the business.
    • Identify training needs: Identifies the technical training needs of employees and develops programs to address those needs.
    • Own multi-channel training platform: Uses technology, e.g. online learning modules, virtual reality, simulation tools and interactive videos, in addition to classroom based and practical training to deliver training programs
    • Maintain training records: Manager maintains training records and provides reports on training activities and outcomes.
    • Manage training budgets: Manages the training budget, ensures that training costs are within the allocated budget, and identifies opportunities to reduce costs without compromising the quality of training.
    • Overall plays a critical role in ensuring that employees have the technical skills and knowledge needed to excel in their job roles.
    • Manage the Training Academy process with the third-party service provider to ensure there are skills ready for the potential expansion of Teraco facilities (Complete and sign logbooks)

    • Experience in the data centre industry or a technical environment is desirable
    • Experience in creating role-based training programs, including the development of training materials and the use of various training delivery methods (e.g., classroom, online, simulations).
    • Proficiency in evaluating training effectiveness and implementing improvements based on feedback and performance assessments.
    • Strong background in delivering engaging and effective training sessions
    • Knowledge of electrical solutions i.e. AC/DC, Single Phase, 3-Phase (preferred) will be advantageous
