    Executive Assistant

    Role Purpose

    To manage all administrative and logistic activities related to the Chief’s Office by providing support to the Chief and coordinating activities amongst the team to ensure deadlines are met. To establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staff, officials, key stakeholders, and the rest of Liquid Telecom Group to facilitate smooth running of the Chief’s office.

    Role Description

    Effective management of all matters relating to the day to day running of the CHIEF’s Office.

    • Proactively assist the CHIEF and complete all administrative tasks timeously.
    • Manage the allocation of stationery monthly and ensure adequate supply is available to the Department.
    • Effective time management of the Chief's diary. Advise and support the CHIEF on matters requiring personal attention, with associated deadlines and prepare relevant documentation.
    • Maintain excellent relationships and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist the CHIEF with day-to-day activities.
    • Screen telephone calls to the CHIEF’s office and refer them to the appropriate person in the absence of the CHIEF Tracking all distributions that require answers, responses, and written replies to the CHIEF’s requests.
    • Coordinates activities in the department to ensure that deadlines are met Identify potential risk relating to the department or Chief’s office and escalates accordingly. Manage travel arrangements for the Chief and some members of the team Receives guests and arrange suitable venue for different event.

    Effective time and diary management.

    • Coordinate the scheduling of meetings and appointments on behalf of the CHIEF to ensure effective diary management.
    • Evaluate invitations (internal and external) within the scope of diary management and take appropriate action in respect of responding (where necessary) on behalf of the CHIEF. Organise travel and related arrangements in accordance with the Liquid travel policy.
    • Coordinate tasks, meetings, and appointments so that the CHIEF’s daily schedule flows smoothly and efficiently with limited disruptions.
    • Manages the CHIEF’s priority list in a manner that permits sufficient time to fulfil the leadership requirements of the role.
    • Arranges stand-ins where the CHIEF can’t make the meeting or event Coordinate the Department’s annual calendar.

    Document and engagement process, management, and support to the CHIEF.

    • Monitors and responds (if necessary) to incoming e-mail, and phone calls on behalf of the Chief and determines the level of priority.
    • Drafts replies to correspondence as appropriate or under the instruction of the CHIEF.
    • Undertakes tasks to ensure a high level of administrative support is provided to the CHIEF .
    • Ensure records are filed in a manner that ensures easy accessibility and retrieval as required.
    • Proactively handles all enquiries and requests handling them directly when appropriate or directing routine matters for responses from other staff and functional.

    Organise meetings and ensure that all logistical requirements are in place.

    • Coordinate and provide materials and general support to the CHIEF for all meetings (including presentations) as required.
    • Collate all information from internal or external functions to help the CHIEF in meeting preparations.
    • Preparing agendas; attending meeting, taking minutes, tracking actions to closure amongst team and maintaining extensive office files Internal All Employees Provide accurate presentation of information to the CHIEF in respect to the meetings.
    • Provides high-level support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, and handling information requests
    • Ensure that the distribution of supportive documents, agenda, notes, or correspondence are sent prior to the meetings.

    Senior Specialist: General Tax

    Role Purpose

    Taxation - Responsible for the management of the direct and indirect tax affairs of all ADC group entities and other Cassava Group entities. This includes managing tax audits, tax governance, planning, advisory, compliance and lobbying. Manage all accounting requirements for taxes in accordance with the relevant IFRS and applicable tax laws, conduct tax risk assessments and help implement policies and procedures, advise on process improvements and best practices to ensure compliance across the ADC group and other Cassava Group entities.

    Role Description

    Accountability on tax efficiencies and compliance

    • Preparation and lodgement of all tax returns and other related obligations.
    • Update and maintain proper tax compliance registers for all group entities
    • Lead the group tax planning and advise management to manage tax exposure, whilst maintaining a good tax asset base in the related balance sheets.
    • Continuously Prepare and submit the income tax provisions and address all effective tax rate matters.Liaise and manage relations with tax authorities.
    • Reconciling all tax related general ledgers, and timeously resolve any related reconciling items.
    • Compute all periodic taxes as per applicable IFRS.3.2 Key Performance AREA (Objective): Weight: 30.

    Tax risk management

    • Raise awareness of tax issues and effectively propose action plans to management.
    • Ensure consistence in tax policies and their application across the ADC group and SA based Cassava entities.
    • Continuously Ensure company assets are recognized and accounted for in accordance with the applicable tax laws.
    • Initiate, plan, and drive ad hoc tax projects to ensure tax compliance across the group.
    • Periodically Review group contracts and advise on any arising tax matters and their treatment.
    • Document all tax correspondence and rulings and maintain an up-to-date register of such.

    Tax audits and systems

    • Undertake tax “health checks” across the ADC group and SA based Cassava entities and provide recommendations on any related findings.Attend to and manage all external tax audits.
    • Follow up on all tax review queries and ensure timely resolution of such.
    • Provide training to internal staff on basic tax issues and accounting as required.
    • Periodically Provide input on the reviews and updates of the ADC group and SA based Cassava entities tax systems, procedures, and policies.
    • Ensure all taxes are submitted onto the applicable tax system(s) for review and filing. 

    Value addition synergies

    • Identify and advise of any opportunities to improve cost management through utilization of any available tax allowances/benefits
    • .Assist in any assigned tax related projects for the Cassava group.Co-ordinate and advise management on specific tax matters for new ADC markets

    Requirements

    • BCom degree, specialising in Tax/ Post graduate degree in commerce: Essential
    • HDIP Tax or Masters in Tax Desirable SAIT member /Chartered Accountant: Desirable
    • 4 years:Tax accounting, advisory and compliance  Essential
    • Financial Management and Reporting with a minimum of 3 years in a similar position in a recognised Audit/Accounting Firm 3 years: Desirable

    Specialist: Pricing

    Role Purpose

    To Deliver a consistent and structured approach to pricing across the group for Enterprise Verticals.To deliver Vertical specific pricing per OpCo and Region, working with Group Product Portfolio manager for Enterprise.To create/structure new and innovative commercial propositions; ensuring customer needs are addressed as well as Liquid Telecom's key financial requirements. To develop practical commercial solutions in collaboration with sales, bid management, service and finance to meet customer requirements.

    Role Description

    • To deliver a consistent and structured approach to pricing across the group and provide relevant information to all departments that interact with Pricing.
    • To create and manage pricing and commercial negotiations for complex, managed service and connectivity global opportunities in a timely manner, meeting Liquid Telecom objectives whilst mitigating risk.
    • Pricing and discounting of products and services.
    • To support Sales with negotiations with customers and pricing discussions.
    • To create/structure new and innovative commercial propositions; ensuring customer needs are addressed as well as Liquid Telecom's key financial requirements.
    • To analyze and monitor high-capacity subsea cable pricing to make sure it is competitive and in line with the market.
    • To participate in vendor management negotiations to provide feedback on pricing requests to ensure that the organization is competitive in the marketplace.
    • To follow-up with vendors/suppliers and manage escalations accordingly to obtain pricing globally (Vendor Management).
    • To Provide costing to Presales Teams to be used in Pricing. Solution Checking to ensure what was requested to Supplier and what the Customer requires is aligned.
    • To help develop new systems used by pricing or where pricing inputs are required.To evolve and improve of overall pricing process in terms of the 
    • quality of propositions and the reduction of response times.Test new systems from a pricing perspective to ensure that it is user friendly, accurate and updated.                                                     
    • Ensure all pricing models for Verticals to be reviewed to ensure calculating margin guidelines are met.

    CPE pricing

    • assuring correct payback and margins are applied. Regular review of standard HW price book and provide special pricing for non standard customer requirements. 
    • Advise on procedures covering the selection of 3rd party suppliers.
    • Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished.
    • Engage cross-functional and virtual teams where required.
    • Perform as functional bridge amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure that 3rd party providers are approved in accordance with Liquid Telecoms procedures.
    • As part of a wider commercial and legal team, apply commercial strategy and relevant procurement and intellectual property law to assist with negotiations with these preferred 3rd party providers.
    • Help track and record acceptance procedures and criteria for Vendors.
    • Support monthly review management of services, and vendor benchmarking.
    • Coordinate all vendor management tasks inclusive of working with external vendors and internal employees.                           

     Provide pricing expertise to the Group Product Portfolio manager

    • Enterprise, to develop pricing, modelling, competitor analysis per Verticals as required.
    • Everyday Work with local Opco commercial teams to get local pricing inputs for the verticals.
    • Provide and support other pricing team.
    • Provide cover for other pricing team when required.                                             

    Requirements

    • Commercial bachelor’s degree or diploma: Essential
    •  5 Experience in Telco/IT environment: Essential
    • Knowledge of pricing and costing
    • Understanding of pricing within the telecommunication environment
    • Microsoft Excel
