    Principle Specialist: Network Quality

    Responsible for the providing network performance analytics all mobile networks across Vodacom Opcos in the radio, transmission and core domains. Be a subject matter expert within the various network domain focusing on network performance and network optimisation and be able to provide best practice sharing across markets.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include

    • Performance management support of the networks across Vodacom Opcos to ensure the networks are always performing optimally according to industry best practice
    • Implement industry best practice for capacity & dimensioning of all network systems across all Vodacom Opco
    • Conduct analysis of the networks and make recommendations that ensure optimal performance
    • Setting of quality standards and procedures against world best practice benchmarks and the management of these processes within the network domains
    • Ensure proper benchmarking of networks using network statistics, drive testing or other data sets
    • Identify innovative ideas to decrease operational costs and improve operational efficiency of networks using best practice of mature markets
    • Conduct network audits, special investigations and network health checks and provide detailed reports and recommendations
    • Manage, compile and update a Vodacom Group strategy for the network domains and based on broader objectives defined within the Technology 2025 strategy
    • Principal liaison with Vodafone Technology for all Network Quality initiatives on behalf of Vodacom Opcos
    • Where required, perform cost-benefit analysis associated with specific technical scenarios and trials under consideration
    • Prepare Group Networks view across all Opcos on performance and implement required data lakes for central reporting and analytics
    • Initiate network Improvement sprints in Opcos were relevant
    • Implement and optimize smart performance tool sets like SON, machine learning etc
    • Budgetary guidance to Opcos across all Network domains;
    • No direct reports

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Matric (Essential)
    • Minimum 3 year Electronic Engineering Degree/Diploma or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification (Essential)

    Skills
    And Experience

    • 10+ years in the telecommunications industry, with min 5 years in a technical lead position (Essential)
    • 10+ Years’ experience in Network Quality Management for GSM, UMTS and LTE (Essential)
    • 8+ Years Experience with advanced performance management tools and development of performance metrics (Essential)
    • 10+ years’ experience in the analysis and technical investigations, research and fault finding GSM, UMTS and LTE and other mobile telecommunication technologies (Essential)
    • Commercial awareness, appreciates the importance of revenue achievement, margin control and ROI whilst maintaining excellence.
    • Exposure and experience in Data driven decision making incl smart planning and optimization tools and processes


    Experience

    • in interacting with OpCo’s in Africa would be most advantageous.

    Senior Specialist: Technology Architect

    • To provide architectural and design guidance and expertise to Technology and Vodacom as a whole for technical and commercial initiatives.
    • To support the organization in providing end-to-end thought leadership and strategic guidance. These initiatives include key strategic technology evolution initiatives as well as key capability enabling initiatives.
    • To own/lead the overall deployment/upgrade/evolution of Vodacom technical platforms from a strategic guidance and architectural perspective.

    Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership
    Your responsibilities will include:

    Technology

    • To lead the Technology Architecture team and broader Technology Group in order to co-produce the long-term Vodacom Enterprise Architecture.
    • To produce technical Target Architectures or technical domains in order to transform the Technology landscape in line with the company strategy.
    • To collaborate on Key Strategic Initiatives from an architectural perspective, that provide thought leadership or strategic direction by liaising with and aligning (when required) Technology and all other relevant BU’s to provide technical and non-technical guidance for a particular area of focus.
    • To lead technology domain owners by defining Technical Evolution Roadmaps for various technologies within or across domains in terms of evolution of technologies within or across domains, taking into consideration the relevant standards, industry and market trends and relevant business needs.
    • To conceptualize architectural guidance for the Procurement of new technologies and systems through various SCM processes.

    This Includes

    • To Communicate effectively maintain sound Relationships at the relevant levels within the Company and all other Commercial teams within Vodacom in accordance with agreed strategies with Line Management.
    • To be able to communicate at all levels within the organization through documented outputs tailored to the specific project/initiative, engagement, audience and desired outcome. This could include written documents, presentations, memos, meetings, workshops, etc.
    • To effectively present outputs produced to all levels within the organization.
    • To work with a peer architect group in requesting and providing peer review and guidance on initiatives and deliverables.
    • To compile reporting information to be presented to all levels of management.

    Account Manager

    The Account Manager will secure new business from their allocated customer list, derived from a specific set of customers. The Account Manager will need to successfully manage their current base whilst selling additional products and services to these customers. The Account Manager will be required to minimise churn and maximise revenues with revenue growth being a key performance indicator. The objective is to increase the business from a target list of customers.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include

    • Responsible for managing specific accounts and delivering profitable, long term business from those accounts
    • Works collaboratively to set up service relationship for nominated accounts
    • Provide input to help with decisions about new propositions, product mix and services for customers

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Matric with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Account Management
    • A 3 year commercial (B. Com/Business Science, IT) Degree or Equivalent qualification will be an advantage.

    OR

    • A 3 year commercial (B. Com/Business Science, IT) Degree or Equivalent qualification with 3 years’ experience in Account Management

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Plan and develop relationships with allocated customers to identify opportunities and strategies to win new or further business from these customers
    • Effectively manage numerous internal and external deadlines in order to respond to large RFPs for single and multi-country deals
    • Ensure billing customer service centres are supporting the nominated accounts

    Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience

    Experience

    • in solution sales and relationship management with a track record of solution selling
    • A broad understanding of the ICT Landscape and Strategic ICT enablers.
    • A thorough understanding of converged and networking technologies and services.
    • Demonstrated understanding of important financial concepts, the IT&T environments, purchasing practices and industry specific aspects of corporate customers.
