    Junior Health & Safety Administrator - Johannesburg

    • The incumbent must have a record of accomplishment of excellence that is built on a strong foundation of values and performance culture.  A high regard for operational effectiveness, structured business processes and applying team cohesion.  The successful incumbent will report to the Technical Foreman and will be based at the Johannesburg business unit.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Assist with the completion of insurance documentation such as claims and underwriting reports
    • Manage and track spending of the general safety budget and prepare for new budgets
    • Maintaining all safety files and records as outline in the Health and Safety Act.
    • Drive the implementation of the documenting, signing and recording of the relevant emergency procedure appointments in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and ensure availability for auditing purposes
    • Ensure all building related documentation such as the Certificate of Occupation, Exemptions, Permit applications etc is up to date and available for auditing purposes
    • Record keeping of fire department inspections
    • Record keeping of Letters of appointment and goodstanding
    • Maintaining the legal registry
    • Ensuring records are kept of evacuation- and emergency communication plans and ensuring that it is up to date and available.
    • Arrange H&S meetings and prepare agenda
    • Taking and distribution of minutes, follow-up and ensuring implementation of decisions and keeping of records and documents relating to meetings and decisions.
    • Implement evacuation- and emergency communication plans
    • Administration and the implementation of operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and firefighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
    • Arrange and ensure the implementation of information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials.
    • Evaluating PPE and safety clothing for use within the plant.
    • Arrange and coordinate Risk Assessments and Safety Inspections
    • Keeping of records and documents on safety inspections, findings and code sections violated
    • Drive and implement corrective measures
    • Co-ordinate the investigation of accidents and injuries in compliance with the COID Act.
    • Ensuring proper records are kept of all industrial accidents and findings documented.
    • Coordinating and ensuring all contractors agreements and clearance documents to operate on site are signed and records are kept up to date and available.
    • Ensuring records are kept of all contractors’ induction to the organisations Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
    • Administration and record keeping, follow-up and documenting of Health and safety induction training and documentation for new employees including plant orientation.
    • Sourcing and scheduling of training programs for HAS environment

    Educational Requirements    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Experience Requirements    
    • 5 Years in an environment which strongly focus on administration and where attention to detail is of critical importance.

    Skills and Competencies    

    • Knowledge of safety admin systems would be helpful, but not a pre requisite.
    • Knowledge of filing, working systematically and following up tasks, are of extreme importance.

    SHEQ Officer - Cape Town

    • The team is exceptionally strong and is seasoned in standardisation and optimisation of processes, able to adapt quickly to change and most importantly solid in its culture and values.
    • Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a SHEQ Officer with at least 3 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will report to the Senior SHEQ Officer.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Assist with developing and maintaining safe work procedures and standard operating procedures.
    • Assist with developing Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment.
    • Maintain and implement  integrated ISO management system.
    • Responsible for management of permanent contractors.
    • Review and approve all subcontractors safety plans, safety files and legal compliance.
    • Conduct inspections and complete close out reports.
    • Conduct internal audits and report findings.
    • Investigate workplace incidents and accidents.
    • Provide induction training to contractors, visitors, and employees.
    • Arrange toolbox talks and distribute communication.
    • Assist in compiling SHEQ reports.

    Educational Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • Should preferably have an H&S qualification such as SAMTRAC (minimum) or NEBOSH.

    Experience Requirements    

    • At least 3 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
    • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
    • Knowledge of incident investigation.
    • Knowledge of environmental legislation.
