    Test Automation Engineer (Test Analyst: Automation)

    Job Description

    • To enable software quality assurance by developing and implementing the Test Automation strategy within and across teams and driving the overall architecture and solution of the Test Automation initiative. 
    • To develop and ensure adoption of Test Automation frameworks, principles, standards, and tools across teams, establish the Test Automation environment, and participate in development of the application as well as in testing of the software developed. 
    • To provide Test Automation leadership / coaching for teams across the organisation, ensuring that developed software meets and complies with the defined automation guidelines and standardised quality specifications within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

    Education (Minimum)

    • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

    Education (Ideal or Preferred)

    • Software Testing - Foundation Level through the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB)
    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Software Testing

    Knowledge and Experience
    KNOWLEDGE

    Minimum:

    • Broad and deep knowledge in DevOps and continuous integration and delivery practices
    • Good understanding of the Automation principles, frameworks and architectures available / systems architecture
    • Various test methods and corresponding tools such as MS Test, NUnit, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
    • End-to-end processes being tested to achieve successful results
    • Impact analysis when introducing software changes 
    • Full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)
    • Best practice / industry standard in Software and Automated testing, reporting, tracking and follow up, and Software Quality Assurance (SQA)
    • Object Oriented Design

    • Agile methodology
       

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum: 

    • 3+ years’ proven formal experience in Automation Testing within a business environment
    • Track record of successful delivery in the Test Automation discipline
    • Integration, Regression, and Automation Testing 
    • Exposure to impact analysis when introducing software changes 
    • Application of test management and Automation tools 
    • Set up of Automation framework and environment
    • API experience

    Ideal:

    • Continuous delivery environment (continuous development environment)
    • Financial Industry / Banking IT Systems
    • Non-functional including performance testing
    • Exposure to Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
    • Reinforce with stakeholders/team appropriate testing environments and timelines
