    Compliance Administrator - Johannesburg

    We are looking for a Compliance Administrator to provide administrative support to the compliance officer in ensuring compliance with statutory and donor requirements and the organisation’s policies and procedures.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Compliance Review

    • Conduct Compliance diligence checks.
    • review service provider/donor contract duration period.
    • Identify apparent and potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
    • Identify and report compliance issues that require follow up and /or investigation.
    • Provide reports on audits conducted.
    • Update compliance reports.

    Timesheet Review

    • Provide administrative support on timesheet reviews
    • Identify and report timesheet compliance issues

    Partner and Internal Audits

    • Update partner reports
    • Ensure all previous queries are resolved and advise Compliance Officers for a follow-up of non-resolved queries.

    Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Matric Certificate.
    • Accounting diploma or equivalent qualification
    • At least 2-3 years compliance and administration experience.
    • Familiar with operational, financial and quality assurance standards.
    • Experience in donor funding within an NGO environment will be an advantage.

    Strategic Information Analyst - Johannesburg

    The incumbent is responsible for independently analysing large complex databases and developing accurate, easy to read dashboards using modern data science tools, techniques, and best practices. He or she will collaborate with the enterprise solutions team to map data processes, plan indicator calculations/query logic, and to manage interface between data visualization tools with SQL and REDCap databases. The SI Analyst collaborates with program teams, technical advisors, and the public health team to identify performance insights and improve programme data and performance.

    Key duties and responsibilities:  

    Reporting:

    • Compile and submit funder and stakeholder report as per process and by the stipulated deadlines.
    • USAID Weekly/Monthly Routine Reporting: Weekly and monthly reporting as per USAID/PEPFAR guidance.
    • PEPFAR DATIM: Anova Quarterly DATIM Reporting as per PEPFAR MER Guide as well as the communicated plan for that quarter’s DATIM submission.
    • Anova Internal: Compile and submit internal reports as per process and by the stipulated deadlines.

    Data Visualization:

    • Using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Excel), develop reports and dashboards for a variety of stakeholders. These reports should be responsive to the requirements of the funder, Department of Health & Anova program team.
    • Collaborate with the enterprise solutions team to link visualizations to data sources and develop appropriate query logic for programme indicators (SQL, REDCap, etc).
    • Participate in the set-up of the data and reporting platform as required.
    • Interpret reports to identify programmatic strengths and weaknesses.
    • Communicate effectively with programme team and public health team to improve data quality and program performance.

    Quality improvement & Capacity Development:

    • Data process mapping: support data processes including input on data collection tools, data flows, Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Upskilling: Train users to use reports and dashboards.
    • QI: Participate in programme quality improvement processes.
    • Cross-skilling: Learn how to compile all reports that are produced by the team and be willing to transfer knowledge as required.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Data Science, Health Sciences, Engineering, Business Management or Business Information.
    • 2-5 years’ experience building dashboards and analyses with business intelligence tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc).
    • Programming experience will be an added advantage.

    Data Developer - Johannesburg

    The successful incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and ongoing enhancement of Anova’s Database infrastructures. The Data Developer will manage the SQL server to successfully store, organize, and access data. Must be skilled in computer programming, software engineering, and data management and help develop tools that support data access and information security. As needed, run code optimize SQL queries and ensures that SQL databases remain accessible, secure, and stable.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Access Control:

    • Setup server-level roles to help manage permissions on a server.
    • Manage user access to SQL Server and REDCap and assign user permissions to individual databases and data collection tools.

    Database Management and Development:

    • Configure and troubleshoot Databases, Tables, Views, in SQL and Projects in REDCap.
    • Independently create workflows using Alteryx to manage the flow of Data between Data sources.

    Quality improvement & Capacity Development:

    • Data process mapping: support data processes including input on data collection tools, data flows, Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Upskilling: Train users to use reports and dashboards.
    • QI: Participate in programme quality improvement processes.
    • Cross-skilling: Learn how to compile all reports that are produced by the team and be willing to transfer knowledge as required.
    • Manage the development and performance of SQL databases for web applications, businesses and organizations.
    • Develop and scale SQL databases based on the organization’s needs.
    • Configure servers and processes and automate tasks to improve reliability and cut down on development time.
    • Provide guidance on complex queries and the optimization of processes and statements.

    Data Analysis and Solutions:

    • Obtain requirements from the SI Analyst or ES Team Lead and analyses specific requirements and translate them into workable solutions.
    • Create/build the solution to address the requirement, using code that aligns with original technical specifications.

    Upskilling and Cross-skilling:

    • Upskilling: Constantly seek out new methods to better handle data and increase system efficiency.
    • Cross-skilling: Learn how to conduct routine tasks required by other members of the team and be willing to transfer knowledge as required.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Certificate in computer science, information technology or equivalent qualification
    • 3+ years’ experience in Database Development and ETL processes (Essential), with an additional 1 years’ experience in the above (Desirable)
    • 3+ years’ Experience working with MS SQL Server (Essential), Microsoft Development Stack and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
    • Experience in Data Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
    • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery options for MSSQL Server Implementation of operational automation using scripts
    • Experience with backups and restores, Windows server (including Active Directory)
    • Experience with DATIM, DHIS, ETR.NET, TIER.Net and Health Indicators (Desirable)
    • Basic SSIS Integration Skills
    • Proficient in Data Warehousing
    • Ability to organize, analyze and disseminate data in various formats
    • Passionate about excellent service delivery.
    • Deadline-driven and good at self-management and personal upskilling
    • Experience within the NGO or Health Sector will be an added advantage
    • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
