    Cashbook Controller

    Job description:

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
    • Accurately and timeously load payment files on the banking system, process cash vendors, employee disbursements, suppliers, journals, receipts and manage petty cash
    • Complete all reconciliations, processing and schedules accurately and timeously
    • Complete accurate year-end reconciliations / schedules for Auditors
    • Assist with the preparation of all reserve bank applications
    • Process and pay all foreign payments
    • Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
    • Effective and timeous internal and external stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
    • Effective identification and resolution of banking system problems and capturing of daily cash balances on the Group reporting system
    • Effective controls to ensure petty cash count reconciles, data integrity, proactive risk identification and mitigation, and effective record keeping
    • Comply with M&RC’s policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols 

    Minimum requirements;

    • Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
    • Relevant Financial / Bookkeeping Diploma at NQF 6
    • Proficient in JDE or similar ERP system
    • Proficient in MS Office [Excel essential]
    • Good interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
    • Numerical reasoning skills
    • Administrative competence with attention to detail
    • Good English written and verbal communication skills 

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • At least 5 years of experience loading payments on the banking application, handling banking queries, processing supplier invoices, journals, reconciliations and receipts, and managing petty cash.
    • Experience on JDE system advantageous

    Mine Overseer

    Job description:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Running the full mining operational cycle in line with legal requirements
    • Be able to fit into a multi-disciplinary team and give direction to the team.
    • Safely achieve production targets in line with contractual requirements 
    • Effective Mining operational management (all aspects, ventilation and service extensions, the lining operation, mark, drill and blast cycle)
    • Accurate, timely, relevant administration and reporting in line with legal appointment
    • Effective risk management and compliance with MHSA, SHEQ, M&RC and client requirements
    • Ensuring the safety of all employees under his/her control
    • Enforce and monitor all risk assessment processes and liaise with safety department 
    • Be responsible for environmental and housekeeping standards.
    • Be willing to assist in developing new methods of sinking to enhance safety, productivities and efficiencies.

    Job description:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Safe operation of the stage including stage inspections, installation of services and concrete lining
    • Relieve the Sinker, should the need arise and take charge within agreed parameters in line with legal and safety protocols
    • Sign legal declarations of workplace, record and be in charge of explosive usage
    • Construction work effected to standard and within timelines
    • Safe and timeous bank activities, including slinging arrangements and effective shaft signalling for the safe conveyance of equipment, material, explosives, blasted rock and people
    • Effective management of the Batch Plant Operation on surface
    • Conducting all assigned work in a satisfactory and competent manner

    Job description:

    • Drawing up and issuing of RFQs; completing commercial evaluations and making written recommendations
    • Placing and expediting of purchase orders with preferred suppliers and suppliers listed in the M&RC’s Approved Supplier Database
    • Verify purchases made are in accordance with procurement contracts
    • Conduct transactional procurement activities in accordance with best practice principles

    • Liaise with contracts team to ensure that items frequently bought are added to an existing contract
    • Acceptable monthly lead time reporting
    • Proactive risk identification and mitigation
    • Effective teamwork and sound relationship with suppliers and cross-functional teams

    Minimum requirements:

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Management [NQF Level 6] or equivalent
    • Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel]
    • Exposure to JD Edwards or similar ERP system advantageous
    • Ability to plan, organise and negotiate effectively
    • Ethical and high work standards
    • Sound Purchasing and office administration skills
    • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience preferably in an Industrial environment (mining, electrical or construction project environment)
    • Experience utilizing information systems, JD Edwards experience will be an added advantage
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Procurement process, including the life cycle of a project
    • Understanding of budgets and financial controls
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and Procurement Policies and Procedures
