    Intermediate QA Technical Tester

    The Department:

    Using cutting-edge technology, we service Digioutsource and the wider group with trailblazing solutions and systems.

    As the Software Development department, we work in partnership with the Product team to find effective results. This in turn, allows us to act upon the company’s vision for delivering service that is informed, fast and superior.

    Purpose of the Role:

    The Quality Assurance Technical Tester will be responsible for the planning and execution of technical test related activities for developed business applications, ensuring that they are effectively tested against agreed functional and non-functional requirements prior to, and post production deployment.

    Duties include, but not limited to:

    • Review, analyse and identify test requirements based on the functional and design specifications from technical documentation (Business/Development briefs, Use Case Diagrams, Architectures and/or Integration Documents) and ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
    • Working with Development & Product Teams to understand the requirements and prepare QA documents pertaining to planning, design, implementation, execution and exit reporting
    • Proactively raise questions and seek resolution of outstanding clarifications required for testing
    • Create, document and maintain test plan/cases around new and existing business requirements and technical specifications
    • Execute and evaluate manual/automated test cases and report test results
    • Potential writing of custom test solutions (automated scripts, test harnesses, SQL scripts etc.)
    • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with Testing, Development & Product Teams
    • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
    • Troubleshoot with development team to identify, replicate, verify and report defects
    • Performance, Load & Stress testing
    • Setup and maintain Automation for monitoring and regression
    • Perform regression and ad-hoc testing of system components potentially affected by system changes
    • Actively participate in daily Scrum and project planning meetings
    • Working together with QA Manager and Test Lead to ensure that testing needs for all supported projects are met in a timely manner and that all software products meet the quality levels set by Business
    • Communicate with Product Owners and Product Support Analysts to ensure all Quality Assurance projects are managed, tracked and delivered to customer expectations with highest quality standards, within required timelines
    • Provide Management with metrics, analysis, and other relevant reports regarding the quality of testing
    • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate immediately to Management
    • Create and maintain constant communication and healthy working relationships between Quality Assurance Development and Product Teams

    Essential Criteria:

    • Experience with contemporary load/stress/performance/automation testing tools
    • Experience solving technical problems and ability to translate technical requirements into test plans

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Good general Development programming knowledge
    • Good general IT knowledge
    • Ability to find defects and bugs quickly
    • Experience with backend database testing, including validating stored procs, jobs and triggers
    • Understanding of systems and architecture (DB's, Servers, Networks etc.)

    Intermediate BI Analyst

    The Department:

    As DigiOutsource’s Business Intelligence (BI) department, we deliver information to the company that is timely, accurate, reliable and relevant. Our information is utilised across the entire business from front facing customer hosts through to executives. Data originates from a multitude of external sources, and is then warehoused and processed into meaningful information. Ongoing analysis and evaluation of results is a daily function. All information systems are designed to provide ease of access, to be extracted on a self-service basis by all users.

    Purpose of the Role:

    This role requires a motivated, energetic, inquisitive and highly numerate person, possessing a genuine love of numbers and the value that can be derived from interrogating them. The successful candidate will be a proud numbers geek, and will be able to astound those around them with their innate ability to weasel information out of various disparate databases and to draw valuable and insightful conclusions from what they find.

    Duties include, but not limited to:

    • Conceptualizing, defining and delivering new reports, as well as improving existing ones.
    • Analysis of data from various sources in order to ensure that the business acts proactively on the information at its disposal.
    • Obtaining, manipulating and analyzing business data to derive experience assumptions.
    • Trend analysis on historical data and deriving information to drive key business decisions.
    • Integration of new sources of data into company databases so that it can also be analyzed and included in relevant reports.
    • Hypothesizing, testing and comparing projected outcomes of scenarios for the growth of existing business and / or the development of new markets and / or changes to existing business rules.
    • Highlighting potentially unprofitable scenarios in order to determine remedial action where possible.
    • Monitoring of subsequent actual outcomes relative to model assumptions in order to determine likelihood of goal achievement (particularly in respect of new markets) and / or need for changes in tactics and strategy.
    • Integration of data into relevant workflow processes, with the specific aim of continuously improving what the company does and how it does it.
    • Continually searching for new and useful ways to obtain, integrate and analyze data that is relevant to the company’s business model.
    • Identify areas where analytics can be applied.
    • Work with Project Managers and Product Owners in executing project plans or analytical tasks within assigned schedule and timeline.
    • Education of report end-users so as to ensure a maximum spread of expertise around the company.

    Essential Criteria:

    • 2+ years’ experience in data analysis.
    • Strong math, stats and logical skills, together with an obvious (some would say sad) love of numbers, spreadsheets and graphs.
    • Undergraduate degree (or substantial progress towards one) with majors in math / stats / economics / engineering / actuarial science or similar. Alternatively, at least 3 years work experience in a data analysis role will be considered.
    • Experience with relational databases: SQL, OLAP, MS Office or VBA.
    • 2 years hands on SQL experience (SQL queries, creation of stored procedures, functions, automation of jobs, etc.).
    • Ability to build reports in Excel and SSRS /Power BI/ Qlikview /Tableau / Cognos.
    • High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, graphs, pull in data from other sources, formulas, functions).
    • Ability to clean, manage, manipulate and use numerical data.

    Desirable Criteria:

    • A relevant post-graduate degree will be a strong plus.
    • Experience with machine learning and statistical analysis approaches such as classification, clustering, regression, statistical inference, collaborative filtering, natural language processing, experimental design, social networking analysis, etc.
    • Implementation of models (User profiling, client segmentation, etc.)
    • Experience with statistical software such as R, Matlab, Octave, Python, Statistica, SPSS, STATA, etc.
    • Hands-on experience with reporting services, data mining and data warehouses will be useful.
