    Logistics Domain Architect

    • The Logistics Domain Architect is responsible for creating the technical domain architecture that describes how Logistics, LMP, EVCO and SHEQ IT components are combined to meet manufacturing, production, storage and distribution requirements, along with the safety systems to support these processes and capabilities. It is a multi-disciplinary role guiding business and IT teams to meet project objectives; executing on the IT and Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy taking a long term view that incorporates IT innovation and digital in the design approach. The main deliverable of the domain architect is to ensure selection and deployment of IT solutions that are fit for purpose; support business needs; future proofed; cost efficient; flexible and sustainable.

    Responsibilities (but not limited to) :

    • Support the Chief Enterprise Architect by enforcing adherence to IT standards, policies and governance frameworks; execute the long term IT strategy and EA roadmap
    • Support business partners and project management teams; to deliver projects on time; on budget and to specification (solution)
    • Provide consultancy services to assist business and IT teams during RFI; RFP; project scoping; project budgeting and high level conceptual design specifically:
    • Ensure compliance to Astron Energy Group IT standards; architecture principles and standards
    • Conduct feasibility assessments where requested for proposed application implementations or changes
    • Advise, manage and plan for all key technology decisions and changes required
    • Contract management
    • Project management
    • Support development of solution delivery time, resource and cost estimates
    • Design solutions / provide impact assessments to meet project objectives; business requirements; business capabilities that adhere to best IT practises (fit for purpose; adaptable; future proof; cost efficient; secure; maintainable and supportable)
    • Participate in governance forums to assess that in house and 3rd party solutions meet IT standards, policies and frameworks that are aligned to the IT strategy and EA roadmap
    • Review solutions after the development and testing phases to ensure that “As Designed” and “As Built” solutions are aligned; rectify design documentation if required
    • Identify out of compliance solutions and propose rectification actions
    • Scan marketplace for innovative and over-the-horizon energy, logistics, production, safety and digital trends and technologies; convert these into business proposals
    • Participate in IT response teams during major IT incidents (system outage / cyber security)
    • •Facilitate good corporate governance with specific focus on IT governance

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • TOGAF or similar architecture certification desirable
    • SAP certification

    Work Experience:

    • EDI experience is preferred
    • 10 or more years IT experience in a logistics, EVCO or chemical processing environment
    • Experience preferred, especially Fuel Supply Chain, EDI, IS-OIL, MM and PP/QM.

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Strong strategic planning capabilities – to effectively partner with the BU leadership teams, the Logistics IT BRM and EA.
    • Deep understanding of the logistics technology stack to include OS, DB, middleware, application layer e.g. FuelFacs, OT, IoT, virtualisation, and cloud technologies
    • Ability to work under pressure; in stressful situations to tight timelines on multiple initiatives simultaneously

    Contractor : Project Manager (Project Ultra)

    Contract End Date - 30/06/2025 Exciting 2 year contract opportunity with Astron Energy (Pty) Limited team.

    To lead the delivery of the project for a future convenience offering from project initiation, through execution, to completion and handover to Business.

    • Ensure project milestones are delivered on time, within budget and to meet the desired project objectives.
    • Overall responsibility will include project delivery utilising the Astron Delivery Methodology. Delivery should follow Astron’s project delivery methodology, however additional steps may be required as the project develops.
    • Projects to be executed and logged in the required project management tool (prior knowledge of tool not required) and ensure project expectations are met or exceeded.
    • Responsible for ensuring that the projects are aligned with Astron standards and strategies. Involved in day-to-day activities and providing effective control of project management.

    The role will involve a high degree of interface coordination between Astron Energy stakeholders, as well as external stakeholders

    The role will entail retail and convenience store partners so prior experience in retail related project management is required, and experience in the petroleum industry would be beneficial. The incumbent will be able to work effectively in both a corporate and operational environment.

    Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

    • Plan and coordinate procurement and contracting activities to ensure timely delivery of the project
    • Successful project initiation
    • Design, execution, monitoring and controlling project’s lifecycle
    • Project closure
    • Project Reporting - provide regular and appropriate reporting
    • Enforce structure within project and ensure that necessary Governance is embedded within this structure of the project
    • Initiate and embed online project management tool ensure transparent tracking
    • Prepare and coordinate phase gate meetings at the beginning and end of each phase, agree on which deliverables will be presented within each phase and co-ordinate monthly steering committee meetings
    • Ensure the project team develop fit-for-purpose design documents, including design philosophies, guidelines, procedures and standards
    • PM is responsible for ensuring that these deliverables be completed timeously to ensure the project can move forward to its next phase
    • Ensure all technical documents, drawing packages, equipment and material bid packages receive the appropriate level of discipline, engineering and commercial review
    • Monitor and control project scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk to ensure adherence to project requirements and effectively manage change.
    • Safeguard Astron Energy’s interests in all technical and commercial interactions with third parties
    • Coordinate interface activities between, internal stakeholders, field construction, engineering contractors, project team members, vendors and field operations personnel, including coordination of management of change activities.
    • Ensure the project team reviews and approves technical documents, drawing packages, equipment and material bid packages – according to core discipline skills
    • Develop and maintain project scopes of work, execution packages, cost estimates, budgets, schedules and resource estimation.
    • Provide additional reports and recommendations to management as required

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma – business or engineering
    • Formal project management qualifications (PMBOK, PMP, SAFe or other) (preferred)
    • Agile certifications (preferred)

    Work Experience:

    • At least 10+ years’ experience with deep project management skills.
    • Prior experience in the petroleum industry would be beneficial.

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Demonstrates excellent coordination, project management, facilitation and interface management skills
    • Commercially and contractually astute with sound understanding of the Stage-Gate project delivery systems
    • Demonstrates excellent business acumen on project funding, project cost analysis and schedule setting & attainment

    Manager - Treasury & Credits

    • Responsible for the source, arrangement and execution of short term and long term credit facilities for local and US dollar borrowing. Work with Glencore Treasury to ensure all policies and global requirements for facilities are complied with as well as local Federal Insurance Contributions Act requirements.

    Financial Perspective

    • Responsible for the source, arrangement and execution of short term and long term credit facilities for local and US dollar borrowing. Work with Glencore Treasury to ensure all policies and global requirements for facilities are complied with as well as local Federal Insurance Contributions Act requirements.
    • Executing and signing of all bank agreements ensuring in line with compliance and Corporate Treasury.
    • Perform cash forecasting for the operations in South Africa and Botswana (daily, short term and medium term). Review variance between actual and forecasted cash position. Manage bank balances. Maintain security over electronic cash management systems.
    • Manage foreign exchange exposure by monitoring and reviewing effectiveness of FX hedging strategy with support from Corporate Treasury. Execute foreign exchange transactions with banks. Assist Global Treasury with currency exposure exercises for South Africa & Botswana. Broad understanding of Exchange Control regulations as they pertain to the geographical entities in central and southern Africa and maintaining exchange control compliance with the South African Reserve Bank. Reporting on exports and imports to South African Reserve Bank.
    • Manage Southern African and offshore banking relationships for the company within guidelines set by Corporate Treasury
    • Manage the preparation and transmission of all confirmation letters to banks, make settlements on due dates, perform accounting and account reconciliations for treasury related transactions.
    • Analyze and evaluate corporate financing proposals and financial agenda items in support of Business Units and the legal entities and carry out special projects as assigned. Ensure business compliance by acting as the conduit for contact with financial institutions, insurance providers and Global Treasury.
    • Process calculations for dividend declarations and drive approvals for remittance of these dividends for Southern African countries and equity partners.
    • Manage bank Reconciliation process ensuring that cash collections are fully updated to accurately reflect customer payments to assist in the optimization of Credit Metrics. Maintain un-cleared items on the reconciliation within acceptable parameters.

    Customer Perspective

    • Continually strives for process efficiencies and innovative credit solutions to support Sales teams in profitably growing sales volumes within acceptable credit risk tolerance
    • Responsible for evaluating credit risk, determining credit lines and security requirements for accounts over direct reports’ Delegation of Authority as well as dealing with complex and high-level credit related matters for Trade and Other than Trade receivables
    • Gatekeeper for issuing of Letters of credit, bank guarantees and other trade financing instruments

    Internal Processes

    • Astron Energy Risk Champion responsible for the roll out and facilitation of the ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) program, providing support to ERM stakeholders and being responsible for ERM reporting
    • Primary in-country contact for all insurance related matters, including policy renewals, claim administration and review of insurance clauses for 3rd party contracts
    • Act as finance representative on selected projects and strategic initiatives
    • Member of the Procurement Committee
    • Member of the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) EXCO subcommittee
    • Employer Trustee of the Provident Fund, Pension Fund and Investment Subcommittee
    • Signatory as per General Authority Resolution
    • Review and management of internal Treasury and Credit policies, initiatives and best practices.
    • Ensures a strong internal control environment is maintained in line with agreed control procedures
    • Ensures a strong business contingency plan is in place and has been tested for the department

    People Management

    • Provides work direction to 2 direct reports plus oversight support to staff within the Credits, Treasury and ERM teams.

    • Key member of the CFO Leadership team

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • Business Administration/Management, or other tertiary qualification preferably including financial accounting.

    Work Experience:

    • Prior experience (5- 10 years) within a senior finance management role is highly preferred

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Electronic Mail and Calendar, and Projects)
    • Knowledge of SAP S4 Hana
    • Ability to work under pressure, working to tight deadlines and independently manage a number of conflicting priorities, as well as be able to switch priorities at short notice (essential)
