    Technical Trainer - Laboratory

    Description

    • Plan, direct, conduct and facilitate on the job training activities in respective production area.
    • Targeted upskilling of workforce in line with strategic direction set for Capability.
    • Ensure new employees are trained to assume assigned roles, and current employees’ skills and knowledge are aligned with work responsibilities.

    Requirements

    Training development

    • Develop curricula for specific roles, in collaboration with departmental management and support functions.
    • Develop material for training programs and review, evaluate and modify existing and proposed programs.
    • Develop relevant assessment tools, on the job observations (practical observations) and job aids.

    Training planning and administration

    • Prepare and administer site training programs.
    • Plan and track training activities.
    • Coordinate with managers and SMEs to ensure software and equipment training is up to date and content is aligned with SOPs and departmental / technical requirements.
    • Maintain training records for employees in production area and report on training activities, as required.
    • Ensure compliant documentation is kept of training activities.
    • Support and assist other departmental work when necessary to maintain current understanding of needs.

    Training facilitation

    • Conduct training programs and sessions, as applicable to the production area.
    • Train on applicable procedures and processes as per regulatory requirements.
    • Administer and evaluate training assessments.
    • Assess and evaluate on the job application after completion of the training.
    • Put measures in place to address competency gaps after the training.
    • Deliver topic specific training as required.
    • Understand and train on applicable procedures and processes required in regulatory requirements.

     Skills Required

    Background/experience

    • 6 years' relevant experience
    • Practical experience in a relevant technical field
    • Pharmaceutical industry experience and/ or experience working in a laboratory environment.
    • Understanding of training procedures and techniques
    • National Diploma in relevant technical field (Pharmacy/ Chemistry/ Biomedical Science / Engineering), or a related discipline

    QC Team Leader - Laboratory Information Management Systems

    Description

    • Manage and coordinate lab preparation and QC activities.
    • Manage and coordinate sampling and testing of external environment.
    • Provide analytical, maintenance and QC lab support.
    • Ensure continuous compliance of lab with GMP standards.
    • Ensure that products are produced, tested, and stored according to the required SOP’s and documentation.
    • Performance management of direct reports

    Requirements

    Planning and Section Management

    • Provide input into operational planning of section, and prioritisation of objectives.
    • Provide input into, interpret, and execute policies and procedures.
    • Provide input into and manage budgets and resource requirements for section.
    • Provide section staff with day-to-day direction and tasks.

    QC Lab Testing

    • Manage and monitor compliance of QC lab testing activities to GMP, quality standards, and product specifications.
    • Manage and coordinate lab preparation activities according to SOPs (samples, working area(s), PPE, and lab equipment).
    • Prepare and implement maintenance and calibration schedules and records.
    • Ensure set priorities and targets are achieved, identifying constraints and solutions.
    • Investigate and report Out of Specifications (OOS)
    • Enforce Good Lab Practice

    Environmental Management

    • Manage and coordinate sampling and testing of external environment, according to SOPS and sampling plan/ schedule.
    • Lab Quality Reviews & Training
    • Validate batch documentation approvals.
    • Review and approve corrections in batch documentation.
    • Identify and coordinate t raining of staff on SOPs.

    Deviations Investigations

    • Manage and coordinate deviation investigations and reporting.
    • Coordinate and initiate risk/ impact assessments and plans to address quality deficiencies.
    • Manage implementation of operational changes to SOPs and processes

    Governance, Risk & Compliance

    • Provide input to QC for improvement of risk-based compliance systems.
    • Monitor implementation and correct own and/or team compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.

     Skills Required

    Background/experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or microbiology with 5 years’ related experience
    • Laboratory and Good Laboratory Practice experience
    • Supervisory experience

    Commercial Finance Manager

    OBJECTIVE: 

    Execute the SA Commercial Finance Functions with direct responsibility for preparing, analysing and submitting accurate, useful financial reports to key stakeholders in the business on time and in full. The role supports decision making in line with company’s strategic objectives with a focus on maximising profitability.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Month-end Close and Reporting:

    • Analysis, Reporting and Management of:
    • Sales (including discounts,
    • dealing and rebates), COGS and Gross Profit
    • Operating Expenses
    • Accruals and Provisions
    • including applicable balance
    • sheet reconciliation and management
    • Journal preparation and posting
      Analysing and explaining all variances to Budget,
      Forecast and Prior Year by (where appropriate):
      Brand
      Customer
      Division etc.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Annual Budget,
    • Five Year Plan and Quarterly Forecast Processes
    • Facilitate Budget, Forecast &
    • Five-Year model processes
    • Prepare and maintain
    • Calculation templates
    • Including loading and analysing calculated values(e.g. Log Fees, Distribution Fees, Trade Expenditure)
    • Price, volume mix analysis
    • Detailed review analysis and explanation of all Income

    Projects and Business Partnering:

    • Review and critically analyse New Product Launch P&L statements with reference to marketing plans and other input from the business
    • Facilitate robust Brand Plan processes including template development, maintenance, and management by working closely with appropriate stakeholders
    • Supporting the Business Heads and their teams in preparing for quarterly brand and performance reviews by providing templates, information, and meaningful analysis.
    • Provide day-to-day financial support and training to the business
    • Address ad-hoc queries (including Internal and External Audit requirements)
    • Perform ROI analysis
    • Review and sign off Commission calculations Projects as assigned
    • Perform designated approval function in line with approvals framework
    • Identifying and documenting risks and opportunities
    • Third-party reporting in line with contractual requirements
    • Process flow improvements
    • Ensuring transactions are accounted for in line with IFRS
    • Ensuring adequate financial controls are designed and implemented for the respective business units
    • Ensuring that reports are balanced between systems and supporting documents
    • Review, approve, and update SOPs from a financial control perspective

    Requirements

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • CA(SA) or ACMA CGMA
    • At least 3 years working experience in a finance environment (audit or otherwise)
    • At least 3 years post articles experience
    • Prior experience in the interpretation and use of accounting standards and the Companies Act
    • Pharmaceutical/FMCG industry and Commercial Finance experience preferred
