    Market Development Manager for MEA Region, Motion Services Division

    You will be mainly accountable for:

    • Support local service units in the development and execution of the strategies and business plans related to focus initiatives. Support local service units in implementing the agreed channel sales strategy within the defined countries in alignment with the local channel development team. Provide channel strategy inputs to the Sales team and helps to harmonize the approach across the region. Support in the pre-evaluation, certification, onboarding and training of selected channel partners.
    • Contribute in creating a clear business plan, targets and expectations of the channel partners and follow up the performance in alignment with the expectations. Implement the planned communication, promotion, and training activities in the channel/segment. Support countries in understanding the full potential via proactive installed base mapping, ensuring the right focus on the correct portfolio elements.
    • Support activities ensuring profitable business growth focused on orders growth, increased penetration & market share. Support in ensuring the full alignment of support for the different offerings by active engagement with the relevant stakeholders from the service supply units.

    Qualifications for the role

    • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
    • 8+ years of experience of supporting service sales and development of multiple channels towards market.
    • Solid background on channel partner management and development.
    • Fluency in English is essential (written and spoken). Arabic or French language is a plus.
    • Sound knowledge in Motion products & service offerings and the various industrial segments.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and related applications with which to perform daily work (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Planner, Visio etc.);
    • Leadership skills being able to coach and motivate the local sales units.
    • Customer oriented and demonstrated competence in products, applications, markets and competition.
    • Willingness to travel (high request).

    Local Business Area Manager Motion

    Your role and responsibilities

    • You will be working as Local Business Area Manager, will be part of Motion business area based in South Africa, Longmeadow. In this role you will be reporting to Lead Business Area Manager and will be responsible to drive profitable growth strategically through the local representation of the global business area and divisions, overseeing country operations management of the Local Business Area as well as all Motion Divisions in all allocated markets, including Research and Development (R&D), if any, marketing and sales, operations and execution production, project management, service workshops, service operations, HSE - Health & Safety, supply chain, quality, and operational excellence, accountability to motion license to operate in the country as well as the responsibility to develop our people and organization capabilities to deliver our current business plan in the country while remaining “ future ready” to deliver our ambition.
    • Implementing the global business area strategy as well as divisions strategies in the countries within the area of responsibility, providing input to global business area and divisions.
    • Ensuring achievement of established targets through regular oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.
    • Delivering operational/project targets ensuring customer satisfaction and improving net promoter score (NPS), having oversight of local business areas in other countries, leading, and managing the production units as allocated by the business area and implementing local plans to achieve targets.
    • Improving manufacturing technology and competence in line with business areas/divisions strategy, executing the sourcing strategy in line with business area strategy and processes, managing all local supply chain requirements to meet targets, executing business area/divisions operational excellence strategy and quality standards.
    • Driving executional excellence across all products/ projects/services and processes through target set-ting, monitoring, and benchmarking for innovative processes, maintaining compliance with quality standards and developing systems for capturing, monitoring, and improving day to day operations, driving productivity, delivery performance and cost optimization.
    • Strategizing, leading, driving and overseeing all marketing and sales activities within the local unit and allocated markets, cross-boarders collaboration with motion business area different stakeholders to ensure Motion is well positioned for sales growth, supporting execution of global R&D – Research and development projects by providing and developing R&D competencies.
    • Ensuring project delivery and achieving agreed project targets, implementing HSE – Health and safety and business compliance standards and regulations within the units, ensuring a safe working environment, continuous HSE improvement process and integrity performance.
    • Living the ABB values and group standards, guiding, motivating, and developing direct and indirect sub-ordinates within HR policies, implementing, and ensuring compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to operations/project execution.
    • Sharing functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization, ensuring (with HR Man-ager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.

    Qualifications for the role

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering
    • Minimum 12-14 years of experience with proven track record in leadership positions with Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
    • Strategic planning and execution capacity to drive business growth.
    • Strong background in service business and ability to lead service operations, inclusive leadership skills, experience in performance management for sizable and diverse teams and growth mindset and ability to lead sizable and diverse teams in challenging conditions.
    • Experience in multinational organizations and multicultural business environment, background in automation and motion business, excellent market knowledge and sharp business development and people management skills
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory.
    • Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.

    Engineer in Training
