    Process Engineer, DIO, People & Culture

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • To research, design and develop the end-to-end business processes using process modelling and tooling in order to enable the implementation of best in class People & Culture processes.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum qualifications

    •     Degree in Business Commerce /Information Technology / Business Modelling / Engineering.
    •     A formal certification in Process Automation will be advantageous.
    •     Lean Six Sigma (green belt) certification and a strong process qualification / certification (e.g. process engineering and facilitation) will be advantageous.

    Experience required

    •     Minimum 5 -7 years extensive experience in People & Culture and Process development, with a sound understanding of the Business Process Management principles and methodologies and the ability to use Six Sigma tools and techniques to improve business.
    •     Track record in People & Culture systems and objectively conceptualizing processes and the relevant training material with the ability to use modelling language. 
    •     Demonstrated knowledge and understanding how to design a process, including desktop automation's, robotics etc.
    •     Proven experience in collaborating with Business Process Owners to understand their Business Unit (BU) as well as the processes and procedures in order to identify process steps that can be mapped and automated, reducing inefficiency and bolstering productivity.
    •     Prior track record in contributing to the development of business cases for process re-engineering that will require direct expense or formal projects to be launched by providing a view on the effort that will be required and the types of resources that will be needed to facilitate informed decision making.
    •     Experience in conducting proof of concept exercises by testing the functionality of the new processes and automation, in collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders in order to optimise efficiency and integration.
    •     Experience in and ability to facilitate process design workshops with participants from across the process value chain by documenting the to-be processes (for example ProMap or MS Visio maps) to ensure integration of processes and systems avoiding duplication.
    •     Experience within a multinational company working with senior management teams in a complex environment is preferred.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • To provide specialist and defined support to the Process Engineer to identify and implement business process improvement initiatives in People & Culture in line with the Banks approved methodology. To analyse business eco-systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum qualifications

    •     Track record in performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting potential new processes, systems and products to ensure optimal products are delivered to the client.
    •     Ability to identify technical inconsistencies that need to be resolved by using Lean Six Sigma tools to ensure process improvement.
    •     Proven experience in performing value stream mapping to provide a structured visualisation of the key steps and corresponding data needed to understand and intelligently make improvements that optimise the entire business process(es).

    Data Scientist

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Provide infrastructure, tools and frameworks used to deliver end-to-end solutions to business problems. Build scalable infrastructure for supporting the delivery of clear business insights from raw data sources; with a focus on collecting, managing, analysing, visualising data and developing analytical solutions. Responsible for expanding and optimising Standard Bank's data and data pipeline architecture, whilst optimising data flow and collection to ultimately support data initiatives.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    Experience Required

    • 5 - 7 Years: Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc. Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift. Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc. Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
    • 5 - 7 Years: Working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • 5 - 7 Years: Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets. Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management. A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets. Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
