    Warehouse Operator - W2 X5

    The role

    • Accounts for all materials and supplies in the stores facilities; audits goods received into warehouse.
    • Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established Procedures.
    • Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and Regulate warehouse space.
    • Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of Facilities and equipment.
    • Develop the warehouse processes and improve team performance using Lean methodology.

    Your profile

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Computer literacy
    • Certificate in Supply Chain Management or Logistics or a related field or equivalent.
    • Warehousing and inventory control in a mining environment
    • Valid code 10 driver’s license

    Productivity Partner - M2

    This position is for a Productivity Partner to partner with relevant stakeholders on challenges regarding safety, reliability through best practices (e.g., maintenance scheduling, parts planning, equipment health checks, technical training) across the Phalaborwa Area.

    Key Responsibilities

    To assist stakeholders in achieving:

    • High equipment availability, reliability and productivity through improved maintenance and operation practices to ultimately reduce the equipment total cost of ownership
    • Improve MTBF (mean time before failure) and/or reduce MTTR (mean time to repair), by supporting the maintenance schedule, parts selection and inventory forecasting, technical coaching and training, equipment health checks.
    • Coordination with machine down support and 24/7 customer assistance programs and however necessarily with Sandvik
    • This position requires ample time spend per site, i.e. starting up a performance contract or complete a specific project.
    • Requirement is to have excellent communication skills, should lead by example, passion for maintaining equipment as well as share equipment knowledge, working according to Sandvik standard & procedures.
    • Assist customer with forecasting IE [Components replacement or repairs, maintenance improvement initiatives]
    • Monthly customer reporting IE [Monthly parts consumption and investigate excessive consumption]
    • Manage all on site services, including but not immitted to ad hoc field services, vendor managed inventory

    Your profile:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
    • Tertiary Diploma engineering / Managerial program in operations field
    • Trade Certificate of Competence, Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, Millwright, Mechanical Fitter
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as Field Service Technician / managing performance contracts / supervising maintenance crew’s
    • Basic Computer literacy
    • English proficiency
    • Valid drivers license
    • Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment

    Warehouse Controller - M1

    The Role

    As the Warehouse Controller, you will operate and administer warehouse functions, including processing, storage and packaging of supplies, materials and equipment to ultimately meet key performance indicators.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Environmental Health and Safety
    • Adheres to safety and environment policies and procedures.
    • Operational Hazard Reporting
    • Uphold safety culture.
    • Executes warehouse operations
    • Follows correct process in the operational area at all times to achieve daily KPI’s and to reduce operational risks.
    • Maintain high level of stock control and accuracy within the warehouse.
    • Uses correct tools and materials safely in executing operational processes e.g. Forklift/ Strapping Machine etc.
    • Completes daily inspections on all equipment to ensure that equipment is safe to operate.
    • Ensure that all operational reporting is completed and made available via the relevant Sandvik systems.
    • Reports all discrepancies on shipment orders, safety and other operational matters.
    • Actively engage and partner with other internal Sandvik departments to provide timely feedback and responses on all Customer order queries.
    • Participates in continuous improvement projects

    Key deliverables in area of responsibility:

    Handover/Collections/Export:

    • Adheres to a high-quality standard on all shipments dispatched from the warehouse, such as order accuracy, physical condition and transport requirements i.e. glass, fragile items, chemicals, heavy loads and filters etc.
    • Preparing and monitoring of outbound staging areas.
    • Controls flow of dispatch documentation, e.g. collections, handover and export paperwork.
    • Control all export compliance inspections with relevant authority body such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, Customs etc.
    • Conducts discrepancy investigations and provides feedback in a complete and timely manner on Order Collections, Load-Close/Order Handover and export shipments.
    • Maintain strict documentation control and handover to Freight Administration daily for archive.
    • Ensure orders are load closed on Prime log and continuously handed over to the Distribution Partner and transfer of ownership acknowledged.

    Allocations:

    • Consistently Monitors Open Book to ensure that all pick notes are printed in a timely manner.
    • Oversee order criticalities and ensure that they are assigned and picked on time
    • Allocate Pick Notes to the Pickers to commence with the Picking of Customer Orders.
    • Confirm Picks on the system as they are completed and handover the Pick notes to the pack station.
    • Monitor the unconfirmed Lines and report aging to the Team Leader.

    JP/EX/RT:

    • Process deliveries on the system in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Monitor the GIT report daily and ensure that it is up to date.
    • Monitor allocated order and ensure pick notes are printed in a timely manner.
    • Allocate Pick Notes to the Pickers to commence with the Picking of Customer Orders
    • Oversee order criticalities and ensure that they are assigned and picked on time.
    • Monitor the unconfirmed Lines and report aging to the Team Leader.
    • Handling and Storage:
    • Monitor the daily inbound truck schedule.
    • Ensure vehicles are correctly positioned for safe loading and offloading.
    • Preparing and monitoring of all Inbound and Outbound staging areas.
    • Controls the issue of diesel.
    • Monitors the battery charging station and conducts daily inspections.
    • Controls are operational packaging materials and responsible for the packaging tracker.
    • Inspects all Racking and Cantilevers and reports defects to Operations Managers.
    • Monitors space utilization and recommends optimal storage methods.
    • Controls bulk and external storage areas to achieve optimal safety, storage and picking methods.
    • Executes layout changes as approved by Operations Managers.
    • Monitors deviation cages to ensure that the correct process is being followed as aging items are actioned.
    • Warehouse Team Control:
    • Provision of backup support to all team members as required
    • Provision of on the job coaching and guidance as and when necessary
    • Answering technical queries of team members as required

    Your profile

    • Grade 12 / Equivalent qualification
    • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a warehousing/distribution.
    • MS office skills – intermediate level
    • Prior exposure to ERP, WMS, TMS and EHS management systems (experience with Aurora and DI is beneficial)
    • Experience with flexible shift work & rosters

    Product Master

    The Role

    Install, configure, modify, and repair products, equipment, and systems that have been purchased by the organization’s customers and identify and correct more complex problems associated with start-up as well as high complexity technical issues during the life of the unit. This role is in our Surface Drills division.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work independently and direct own activities and use best practices and knowledge of internal and external customer and/or business issues to improve the products and services provided by the Surface Drills Division.
    • Use in-depth knowledge and experience in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines to provide product expertise, support and guidance to sales representatives, resellers and/or internal partners during the sales and/or development process.
    • Assist sales representatives, resellers and/or internal partners during the sales and/or development process to maximize the benefits derived from the organization's products and/or services.
    • Assist and guide Field Service Technicians and Field Service Specialist personnel and our dealer organizations in solving complex technical problems and/or issues.
    • Assist and direct Technicians in the evaluation and repair of warranty and non-warranty products.
    • Set work schedules and priorities to achieve customer visits, Surface Drills Audits and organizational expectations.
    • Actively promotes safety, employee involvement, continuous improvement, and cost reduction activities.
    • Conduct risk assessment and risk management duties on Sandvik Surface Drills equipment when visiting customer sites.
    • Ensure that all Safety/Technical Bulletins are properly communicated to internal and external customers as well as all product improvement bulletins.

    Profile Required

    • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering will be advantageous
    • Trade certificate of competence Millwright.
    • Technical sales support knowledge will be advantageous
    • At least 3 years sales support or field service experience
    • Ability to work effectively within and report to a matrix organization
    • In depth knowledge and experience on Sandvik Surface Drilling equipment
    • Exposure and experience in engineering change management processes will be advantageous
    • English Proficiency
    • Medically and physically fit to work in a mining environment
    • Willingness to travel extensively
    • Valid driver’s license
