    As a Partner Solutions Architect focused on Telecommunications Partner(s) within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will
    apply your creative and technical skills to understand the challenges and opportunities our partners (and their customers) in this sector are working on and build Cloud based architectures that allow them to run their most challenging workloads in the AWS Cloud. You will have the opportunity to continuously learn as the breadth of products and services evolves, and to be at the cutting edge of the industry in terms of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Serverless and Container driven architectures, Analytics and Big Data, DevOps, and Security. You will help large organizations transform into contemporary, agile businesses, and you will see start-ups grow and thrive.
    A background in working with systems integrators and/or enterprise architecture for distributed software solutions (especially if you have experience with cloud solutions) is relevant, and you should have the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.     In this technical role, you will architect enterprise-grade Amazon Web Services solutions, own the technical relationship and deliverables with large partner(s), develop and execute multi-day workshops, lead white boarding sessions, author white papers and blog posts, and respond to complex technical inquiries.
    The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skill in software architecture, information security, compliance initiatives, software deployment and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. The ideal candidate is also an influencer by nature and must be seen as someone that partners are eager to engage with and have a strong hands-on approach.
    The Ideal Candidate Will Need To Demonstrate

    • Deep technical skill in software architectures and cloud computing
    • Customer facing skills ideally gained within a partner organization and have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

    Basic Qualifications

    • The right person will possess significant hands on implementation or consulting experience and demonstrate a strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
    • A successful candidate will have spent several years of their career in customer facing roles and a proven record of effective collaborations across multiple internal organizations and interactions with partner and customers.
    • Experience working with end user or developer communities.
    • Experience supporting partners and programs.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must. Past experience writing and publishing technical content, such-as whitepapers, is highly desirable.
    • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
    • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with CTOs, enterprise architects, IT management, and developers
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
    • Experience working with AWS technologies is highly desired but not required
    • AWS Certification, eg. AWS Solutions Architect Associate, is highly desired but not required
    • BA/BS degree, or equivalent work experience, is required; Computer Science, Math or Technical background highly desired; Advanced Degree a plus
    • Fluency in English is essential
    • Travel may be required, typically up to around 25% of your time

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A Masters Degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or equivalent technical degree
    • AWS Solution Architect Certificates; Associates, Developer, Professional.
    • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g. AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, Amazon ECS, Amazon DynamoDB, AWS CodeStar, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, Amazon Elasticsearch service, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon CloudFront etc.)
    • Knowledge of multiple, modern development languages such as Ruby, Python and Node.js
    • Understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts and technology
    • Experience in a customer-facing roles such as consultant, solutions engineer or solutions architect

    Partner Development Manager

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for world class candidates to manage our partnerships with the leading Systems Integrators, ISV’s, Born-in-cloud-Solution Providers, Consulting & Service Delivery Partners, Distributors and other members of the AWS partner ecosystem.
    As member of the AWS Commercial Sales (CS) Partner Team, you will have the exciting opportunity to develop and deliver on our strategy to build mind share and deliver key services that drive customer business outcomes.
    The right candidate will have a track record of success in building, developing and managing channel partnerships in South Africa. She/he will have both a business background that enables them to engage at the CxO level, as well as a sales background that enables them to manage joint GTM efforts and to easily interact with customers.
    The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions
    Your responsibilities will include establishing and growing business and technical relationships while managing the day-to-day partner interactions. You will be responsible for driving top line revenue growth and overall AWS adoption with selected partners, across all market segments.
    Role and Responsibilities

    • Have a holistic view on the set of selected Partner and members of our ecosystem in the region and drive partner recruitment and partner optimization programs if and where appropriate
    • As member of the Partner Team be able to execute and deliver against the defined overall go-to-market strategy for the region
    • Closely work and collaborate with the AWS field sales force and closely with each partner’s customer base to maximize success using our web services.
    • Advise customers and commercial sales teams on the value of partners, engagement, and recommend qualified partners to support customer needs.
    • Engage each of the selected partners' field sales organizations, channels and end customers to create and drive revenue opportunities for AWS.
    • Work with multiple sales and technical teams within both AWS and each partner to define and execute joint technology, marketing and sales initiatives.
    • Identify joint customer segments and industry verticals to approach with a joint value proposition for using AWS.
    • Participate and contribute to the established business cadence as well as prepare and deliver business reviews with internal and external stakeholders
    • Manage complex partner negotiations and serve as a liaison to the wider cross-function team with AWS
    • Leverage existing partner programs and channel initiatives to drive development and evolution of the regional partner ecosystem

    Basic Qualifications

    • Experience in engaging and influencing C-level executives and strong familiarity with decision making processes in a customer and partner enterprise environment
    • Strong sales and commercial acumen with a desire to coordinate field teams to develop and close high-profile deals
    • Experience in Partner sales or business development within the Software / IaaS/ Cloud / SaaS markets
    • Experience working with diverse and complex partner ecosystems
    • Demonstrated experience working with cross-function stakeholders including direct and channel marketing, product management, operations, account management teams, legal, finance etc.
    • Excellent communication, and presentation skills, both written and verbal in English.
    • Extensive work experience in commercial roles / sales management in the IT industry

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience and track record of success in leading and managing partner ecosystems / channels & alliances in South Africa
    • Undergraduate degree in business administration or IT disciplines
