    EHOD HRBP Technology

    Role Purpose

    The role of the EHOD: HR Business Partner is to provide end-to-end HR support to the business unit, provide strategic and operational guidance and support to management teams, lead all business unit initiatives to drive positive employee engagement, support business unit in building sustaining high performance culture and challenge and drive performance across the business areas through exemplary people & organisational practices.  

    Your responsibilities will include

    • Input to functional people plan that is fully aligned to Vodacom/functional strategy
    • Act as strategic sparring partner, engaging on  the effectiveness of the Business Unit, processes, systems, data and people 
    • Challenge and support leaders in business areas to align behaviours/attitude to The Spirit of Vodacom and new ways of working 
    • Implement all ‘Performance Driven Reward’ plans in business areas
    • Deliver a pipeline of diverse future leaders and accelerate high potential development in functional business areas
    • Identify and deliver leadership team effectiveness solutions 
    • Work with Learning & Development to build critical functional capabilities to enable the business areas to deliver against their plans 
    • Focus the business areas on the Vodacom Strategy and help people to recognise their part in drive performance 
    • Build a high ‘support & challenge’ relationship with Senior Leadership Team  

    Facilitate delivery of the Vodacom functional people plans in support of Vodacom’s strategic objectives.

    Key focus on organisation effectiveness, talent management & building capabilities.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Qualification:

    • A relevant 3yr degree/diploma (e.g Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Management, etc,) - essential
    • A Post-graduate qualification will be advantageous

    Experience:

    • Atleast 8 to 10 years' management experience as a Human Resources Business Partner, operating at Executive Level, with full competence in all areas of the HR value chain preferably gained in a private sector environment - essential  as well as proven experience in the management of a Human Resources section/division

    Broad and comprehensive understanding of Human Resources concepts and principles

    Senior Specialist: Software Architect

    Role Purpose

    The Senior Specialist: Software Architect role is based within Technology.

    • The Digital Software Architect is responsible for leading, and driving green software engineering patterns across all of Vodacom’s digital engineering teams
    • This role is responsible for providing expert knowledge of prototype creation, module and solution design and development using agile methodologies, and continuous testing to enable target capabilities / user journeys
    • This role will be required to oversee the progress of adherence to the initial software architectural design. 
    • This role is also expected to be create sustainable software patterns that span across frontend, aggregation and microservices. 
       

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Work closely with the technical capability manager to create an architectural flight plan for domains (customer, profile, products, payments), ensuring the maximum reusable technical capabilities at the lowest total cost of ownership, supporting Web, App, Tobi, USSD, RPA, Kiosk, Retail App etc.
    • Participate in the creation of the digital engineering flight plan through to Tech25 and beyond
    • Identify key capabilities and technology required to evolve towards the digital vision and deliver expected strategy outcomes
    • Define enabler epics 
    • Validate longevity of capabilities

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field required
    • A minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience of which at least three years is in Software development and architecture
    • Experience in current and emerging technology especially in React, Node, Cloud.
    • Experience in Digital channels, including but not limited to Web, App, Chatbots, USSD. 
    • Experience working closely with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, XP, and with teams leveraging DevOps and Continuous Delivery / Integration
    • Strong understanding of IT management best practice frameworks, such as ITIL and COBIT
    • Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry preferred

    • Cost of ownership of technology, application portfolio management
    • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem solving skills, with high-levels of creativity
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with both technical and business audiences
    • Excellent relationship building, teamwork, and collaboration skills that enables the provision of effective support and guidance across multiple DevOps teams
