    Customer Support Specialist - Kindle Direct Publishing

    Description

    Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is a self-service publishing framework for publishing e-books to the Amazon Kindle store. The KDP Support Analyst will be the front line interface between Amazon and vendors/content publishers who use the KDP tool to upload content they want to put up for sale on the Kindle store. The KDP Support Analyst will serve as the primary support interface for vendors using the KDP system and ensure all their concerns are duly attended to such that the system works smoothly.     Responsibilities:

    • Process and respond to emails and phone calls received from publishers
    • Respond to queries sent to the KDP forums
    • Investigate payment concerns brought up by customers
    • Route payment concerns to Accounts Payable
    • Reprocess stuck books through the system
    • Route issues and bugs that need engineering expertise to the development teams
    • Maintain and improve a knowledge base with unique vendor requests and their solutions
    • Work on developing responses for common questions
    • Work with operations manager in documenting process flows

    Basic Qualifications

    • Must be eligible to currently live and work in SA
    • Must be fluent in English (C1 Level)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated experience of 1-5 years in a front line external (customer or supplier) facing role requiring email, voice or message board type of interactions with customers/external parties
    • Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Graduate degree in any field. Additional computer skills certifications in web technologies are preferable.
    • Experience in a technical support process, especially for web enabled software products or services is highly preferred
    • Excellent verbal communication skills required. Must be able to interact with external parties like customers and suppliers comfortably
    • Excellent written communication skills. Should be able to understand a complex problem and draft a concise email response
    • Basic familiarity with web technologies and html is highly desirable
    • Strong analytical skills required. Must be able to understand problems that vendors are facing, categorize, document, and decide on course of action on when and to whom to escalate
    • Detail oriented and process focused. Must be able to follow the process and document interactions as per requirements in clear and concise manner
    • Prior experience in process improvement initiatives or six sigma type of projects is preferred but not required

    Data Center Technician

    Description

    This role is a unique opportunity to work in some of the most cutting edge data centers in the world. Amazon data centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will be working on changing the face of Cloud technology in the region.
    A Data Center Technician will work as part of the Operations team whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure. The candidate may be the primary point of contact for both internal customers (for example: Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external customers (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers among others). The position is full time and shift based, operating on a 24*7 rotation. The ideal candidate is someone with hands-on hardware experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Work and meet SLA’s against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow
    • First line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues
    • Perform regular server hardware repairs(drives, motherboards etc)
    • Carry out routine network, server hardware and OS related repairs
    • Work with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to complete routine work
    • Engage with Smart Hands in EU Regional POPs
    • Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center
    • Participate in Data Center power & cooling events
    • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goals achievement
    • Identify and help create documentation for use globally
    • Identify and help create process improvements relevant to the data center environment
    • Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, scheduled works as required
    • Interact with third party vendors & contractors
    • Contribute to the development of other team members

    Basic Qualifications

    • 2+ years of technical experience.
    • Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware systems.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying excellent time management skills.
    • Ability to take direction from both a directed work system and/or a team lead.
    • Able to lift/move up to 20kg equipment on a daily basis.
    • Working on a 24*7 shift rotation.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Basic knowledge of Linux is an advantage.
    • Basic knowledge of networking is an advantage.
    • Experience with one of the following connection protocols/technologies: SSH, TELNET, IPMI, LILO
    • NQF level 6
