    Senior Manager: Global Accounts Management (GAM)

    Mission / Core purpose of the job

    The Senior Manager (GAM) will manage a group of selected global MNC accounts (1 to 6 accounts) with a prime focus on increasing share of wallet. He/she will work with a diverse team (including but not limited to Sales, Pre-Sales/Solution Architects, Service Managers) to maintain and grow account base and ensure service delivery and customer satisfaction

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

    The Senior Manager: GAM will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Manage ~1 to 6 regional MNC accounts throughout their lifetime with MTN (existing and potential perspective clients) and across and beyond MTN footprint
    • Be fully responsible and accountable for the managed accounts revenue targets
    • Deliver account planning and manage pipeline through use of statistical data related to clients and industry trends
    • Defend accounts through understanding competitive intelligence and understanding customer’s needs
    • Cross-sell and up-sell to existing client to grow account revenues and share of wallet
    • Pursue sales opportunities and leads to close new accounts
    • Ensure delivery of financial and operational targets
    • Liaise with and manage interaction with Local Account Managers for his dedicated accounts within each OpCo and other virtual team members across all relevant functions
    • Coordinate operations related to his/her managed accounts with the Local Account Managers within each OpCo
    • Partner with bid management organization to build out detailed RFP responses and contract development
    • Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with the key account decision makers
    • Evaluates customer preferences, pricing, product terms and conditions to ensure that client requirements are met; gather and analyse data regarding competitor pricing and products and ensure that MTN products and services fit customer requirements
    • Provide input into data collection for reporting and forecasting
    • Adhere to MTN policies for compliance and sound governance
    • Work collaboratively to provide direction on the service relationship for nominated accounts e.g., interlocks with supporting departments to ensure accurate billing
    • Remain responsible for quality bid and proposal management, identifying and reporting on key risks and issues
    • Provide inputs to decisions on new product propositions and services for customers based on his understanding of the customer requirements and needs
    • Create reports on sales pipeline and expected RFPs from the account managed
    • Develop relationships to guarantee understanding and involvement in the connectivity RFPs issued by of his/her managed accounts in order to increase the chances of conversion for MTN
    • Interlock with supporting departments to ensure billing customer service centres are supporting the nominated accounts

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

    • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Sales & Marketing / Finance / IT)
    • Post graduate qualification (MBA/CA/Masters as advantage)
    • English, French and Arabic (as advantage)

    Experience:

    • 6-10 years sales experience in ICT industry focussed on the ISP/Telecommunications sector
    • Experience with Multinational Accounts
    • Knowledge of sales performance reporting
    • Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation and experience of presenting to senior customers
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
    • Experience in global/multinational enterprise, coupled with working in emerging markets
    • Proven track record of performance against sales targets
    • Fluency in French (desired)

    Technical Accounting Consultant

    Mission/Core purpose of the Job:
    The Consultant, Technical Accounting is a part of the financial operations division and is responsible for technical accounting activities including preparation of annual financial statements, accounting policies and technical accounting opinions. The purpose of this job is to act as the subject matter expert for the Technical Accounting functions at the CoE.
    The Consultant, Technical Accounting reports to the Senior Manager, IFRS Accounting Advisory and Governance. The role interfaces with the finance executives, other CoEs, Opco stakeholders and the Shared Services Hub (SSH).

    Key Performance Areas

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Assist in the creation of the sub-divisional strategy in line with the overarching business goals
    • Provide input into the effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps

    Governance
    Strategic Meetings

    • Provide input in strategic meetings when required
    • Provide inputs to enterprise wide transformation initiatives when required
    • Provide inputs to and ensure adequate risk mitigation and controls
    • Perform evaluation baseline of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Provide input into the preparation of proposal on change initiatives SLA, policies and procedures

    Escalations

    • Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource impact
    • Manage and provide solutions to escalations that have multiple processes / functions impact on critical path of service delivery

    CoE Tactical

    • Provide input into all projects initiated (internal or global)
    • Provide input into finalising objectives, targets and budgets for CoE as applicable
    • Identify and document key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
    • Prepare documentation required for sign-off / making decisions regarding tactical changes

    Performance

    • Ensure execution alignment with divisional strategy
    • Provide input into SLA approval and exception performance review

    Reporting

    • Report on a monthly basis to reporting manager relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance
    • with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
    • Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects as and when necessary
    • Periodically review reports from the SSH, Opco

    Budgets

    • Assist in managing sub-divisional budgets in line with business objectives
    • Assist in managing project initiative budgets in line with business objectives
    • Guidance and Support Management
    • Contribute as a subject matter expert in the development, improvement, monitoring and maintenance of group accounting policies, procedures and templates on financial reporting
    • Train and provide guidance to Opcos on statutory accounting and reporting requirements with respect to the
    • preparation of financial statements
    • Provide technical accounting advice to MTN Group companies, divisions and Operating Companies (Opcos) (for example, on product development and non-routine transactions, etc);
    • Prepare and provide updates on technical accounting topics as a result of changes in IFRS and / or other relevant accounting changes
    • Understand customer feedback and create innovative solutions for better service delivery

    Job Specifications/ Minimum & Preferred Requirements

    Education / Business Degree 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance
    • Chartered Accountant CA(SA)

    Work Experience

    • 2 – 4 years relevant IFRS experience
    • Experience in the preparation and/or review of financial statements.
    • Technical accounting experience within a telecommunication environment (advantage)
    • Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (financial accounting)
    • Experience in financial accounting leading practices and trends
