    Maintenance Artisan Millwright

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To safely carry out preventive maintenance and repairs to the plant in line with documented work.

    BUSINESS PROCESSES

    • Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in section
    • Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis and regular plant inspections
    • Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment as well as low and high level electrical equipment
    • Comply with OHSA standards, ensure that electrical installations comply with statutory regulations, conform to safety standard and planned maintenance system requirements
    • Complete breakdown work order, create notification, provide feedback and generate orders on the SAP system
    • Performing work in a safe and reliable manner ensuring the highest level of workmanship
    • Conduct regular plant inspection and report non conformance and problems.
    • Monitoring the operational conditions of machinery and equipment
    • Perform lockout procedure on machines and /or equipment to prepare for maintenance
    • Carrying out routine maintenance on a production machine to ensure its smooth running
    • Maintaining, selecting and establishing measurements with complex measuring equipment as well as tolerancing.

    Maintenance Specialist Instrumentation - Limpopo

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To continuously improve the Asset Capability Assurance process in a safe manner, through reliability engineering using Root Cause Failure Analysis on high frequency, high-cost breakdowns and analysing maintenance performance. 

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

    • Identify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
    • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
    • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox
    • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
    • Adhere to all related SOP’s, PTO’s, and CTO’s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and company standards

    PEOPLE

    Manage the Section:

    BUSINESS PROCESSES 

    Maintenance Support:

    • Initiate task list reviews
    • Develop maintenance plans (frequencies, maintainable items)
    • Initiate plan review and review maintenance plans

    Maintenance Data Analysis:

    • Perform Pareto analyses, correlation analyses and report top chronic losses
    • Interview production personnel with regards to trips and artisans with regards to repetitive trips
    • Conduct ABC analysis

    Solve problems and implement solutions:

    • Arrange RCFA investigation and facilitate the problem-solving session
    • Analyse alternative solutions and recommend best solution/s based on:
    • Cost – risk – benefit analysis on key equipment performance parameters
    • Cost benefit to the organisation
    • Recommend best solutions to problems through the change management process
    • Record actions arising from RCA
    • Monitor recurring failures related to implemented RCA's (KPI until close out)
    • Track Condition Monitoring (CM) results
    • Analyse equipment failure history
    • Log equipment problems identified for further action
    • Develop a list of clear problem statements and business cases for problems requiring RCA
    • Monitor and share Company-wide similarities / learning opportunities by using the Intranet Sites and SAP History
    • Monitor and advertise latest maintenance and technology developments
    • Develop, maintain and monitor adherence to maintenance standards and specifications

    Minimum qualifications: 

    • BEng. / BSc (Eng.) Degree or National Diploma in Instrumentation or equivalent
    • 4 years’ relevant CU experience
    • Experience on the Siemens PLC’s and operating systems
    • Valid Driver’s License (minimum B/ Code 8)
    • Computer literacy (MS Office)

    Additional qualifications: 

    • SAP and COUPA experience
    • Government Certificate of Competency
    • Project Management

    TFC Maintenance Specialist Instrumentation - Steelpoort

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To supervise the safe and cost-effective execution of all maintenance of plant, equipment & facilities ensuring high quality workmanship of workforce and contractors. To ensure reliability of automation and instrumentation equipment, maintain automation and control related software and hardware, to ensure minimal production downtime and to maximize production, while utilizing technology to improve safety and efficiency.

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, RISK, QUALITY AND COMMUNITY  

    • Manage SHEQ compliance within the section through effective use of the Toolbox
    • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

    CUSTOMERS: 

    • Mobilise resources to attend to plant stoppages as quickly and safely as possible.
    • Provide constant feedback to the plant production personnel with regard to the progress of any maintenance work on the plant.
    • Align the maintenance effort with plant production priorities.
    • Understand how the operation works and the effect of the instrumentation and automation on its deliverables and the way it operates and vice-a-versa.
    • Proactively seek ways of improving equipment reliability, planned maintenance, physical maintenance and automation systems in the plant.
    • Conduct regular scheduled plant inspections to ensure standardization of equipment and procedures.
    • Attend designated plant areas production and maintenance meetings as required.
    • Monitoring of MES in areas of responsibility, control and report on downtime data.
    • Conduct and distribute RCFA as per maintenance KPI targets.
    • Conduct and distribute Pareto analyses as per maintenance KPI targets.
    • Conduct and distribute PM02 audits as per maintenance KPI targets.
    • Review all equipment’s failures and breakdowns to prevent reoccurrences.
    • Develop maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability.

    BUSINESS PROCESSES  

    Unplanned Interventions:

    • Report all automation, instrumentation related issues to the automation, instrumentation Superintendent.
    • Assess risks related to unplanned jobs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Eng./BSc. (Eng.) Degree or ND Diploma in Instrumentation or equivalent (NQF level 7)
    • Minimum 5 years relevant post qualifications experience
    • Instrumentation trade test will be advantageous.
    • Experience on the Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s and operating systems is essential.
    • Siemens Pro1, Pro2, and PCS7 training will be advantageous
    • Rockwell RS logix 5000 project development and factory talk view programming training will be advantageous.
    • Experience with IT systems and networking is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of SAP system will be advantageous.
