    Data Analyst

    Role Objectives:

    • Main purpose of the role is to support the delivery of Analytics and Data Science solutions within the Hollard Insure business. Overall objective is to drive substantial bottom line value by transforming the organisation’s key decision processes (e.g. sales, marketing, product design and pricing, fraud, underwriting, claims) by using insights, analytics, machine learning and AI.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The incumbent will be responsible for Delivering on key business opportunities where improved insights and advanced analytics can drive bottom line value
    • Working with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome
    • Collaborating with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information for analysis, reporting and solution design
    • Performing experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses
    • Quantifying the accuracy of metrics for the analysis and presenting and depicting the rationale of the findings in easy to understand terms for business
    • Supporting the design and delivery of the right infrastructure (databases, BI tools, modeling software) to support the analytics agenda
    • Supporting data science solutions.
    • This includes the use of Machine learning, Cloud technologies and API’s
    • Maintain existing solutions and retrain models where required
    • Migrate existing on prem solutions to the cloud
    • Build required data structures and reports to track model usage and stability
    • To work with business to help understand the value analytics and data science can play in their environments
    • Key stakeholders
    • The head of Analytics and senior data scientists
    • The managers of the respective business functions
    • The BI team

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • +/- 1-year related experience Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Experience in analytics (big data, database mining, statistical, modelling and programming knowledge, test and learn) Experience in database analytical tools and statistical packages
    • Experience in Python, SQL server, Powerbi, Excel, Powerpoint,
    • Azure will be advantageous
    • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
    • Good project management and delivery skills
    • Strategic thinker with strong operational and tactical experience, skills and knowledge
    • Self-management skills (can organise work, space, time)

    Educational Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Bsc (science, maths, statistics), Engineering, Computer Science, Data science specific degree Honours and Masters degrees preferred

    Payroll Administrator

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Responsible for the preparation and processing of inputs and outputs on payroll on the relevant payroll system (This includes the entire cycle of payroll processing from capturing of new employees, leave, terminations, check and authorise claims and ensure accuracy).

    Required Knowledge and Experience    
    Required Experience: 

    • 5 - 10 years in a payroll administration environment
    • 2 - 4 years with the applicable/relevant payroll software

    Required Knowledge & Skills: 

    • Strong numerical and financial skills
    • Extensive experience in any payroll software.
    • Accuracy with attention to detail
    • Analytical
    • Problem solving and diplomacy
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Stress tolerance and excellent management skills
    • Sound Microsoft Office knowledge, Excel specific

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Preparation and Processing of inputs and outputs. This includes New Hires, Transfers, Terminations and any Employee Life cycle activity relating to remuneration.
    • Company Cars and Petrol Card processing.
    • Monitor monthly variances
    • Manage the payroll mailbox on a daily basis
    • HR admin data integrity through exception reporting management (Id number, Banking details etc)
    • Maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made in a timely manner and manage own area of control, with implementation of workable solutions for issues/problems to minimise escalations to management.
    • Generate the 3rd Party Schedules for distribution the last day of every month
    • Calculate pro- rated salary and benefits
    • Familiar with E-Filing and applying for tax directives.
    • Validate and Import MIS sheets and verify the accuracy of the data import.
    • Balance and upload all benefit changes
    • Assist with Leave queries
    • Monthly audit of leave encashments including reversals
    • Responsible for coordination between payroll and human resources, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
    • Liaise professionally with staff regarding pay queries
    • Prepare all payments in a timely manner

    Educational Requirements    

    • Relevant Diploma or Degree
