    Senior Shift Artisan (Electro-mechanical) - Krugersdorp

    Job Purpose:

    • To plan and supervise the daily maintenance activities of the processing and packing equipment to optimise the availability and reliability of this plant and to maintain a safe working environment. The incumbent will also provide hands on expertise and leadership of maintenance staff to provide preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment and to minimise equipment downtime during breakdowns.

    • Provide technical support to maintenance team.
    • Maintain appropriate levels of equipment and component redundancy for flour handling, dough making, lamination, cooking and product cooling processes and pie line equipment.
    • Identify and maintain appropriate levels of critical spares.
    • Recommend and implement technical changes (engineering standards and specifications)

    Maintenance Planning

    • Work with Engineering Planner and Senior Artisan colleagues to schedule maintenance and repairs based on available resources and within legislated limits of overtime.
    • Assist in planning and executing statutory and regulatory maintenance
    • Allocate Job Cards/Works Orders to the maintenance team and sign-off Job Cards/Works Orders.
    • Maintain and update maintenance plans.
    • Develop and execute maintenance shutdown/outage plans.

    Maintenance Management/Supervision and Auditing 

    • Coordinate and optimise the application of maintenance resources (internal resources, service providers/suppliers and contractors) to reduce engineering downtime.
    • Establish and hold team accountable for the achievement of key maintenance KPI’s and ensure the effective use of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system Pragma.

    Housekeeping:

    • Maintain approparite housekeeping and safety standards in maintenance offices and workshop

    Design:

    • Design basic mechanical components to suit the environment.

    Equipment protection during assmebly and disassembly:

    • Devise and implement menthods to protect the equipment from regular assembly and disassembly including the use of proper tools.

    Runtime Diagnostics:

    • Diagnose faults on equipment and machinery during production/operation to minimise equipment stoppages.

    Quality Control Monitor - Pretoria West

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Monitor to join our Milling Division based in Pretoria West. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively monitoring and maintaining all relevant food safety systems.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • BSc. Consumer Science/ Food Science/ B.Tech. Food technology
    • ISO 22000 implementation/ FSSC 22000;
    • Internal auditor.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    External Analysis  :

    • Compile a customer database that stipulates their external analysis needs and continuously update to keep it current.
    • Identify and submit all samples requiring external analytical/microbiological testing on a daily basis. Ensuring that testing is as per customer requirements and it is completed timeously to avoid shipping delays.
    • Managing environmental monitoring program, ensuring swabs are taken as per the testing schedule.
    • Managing external testing samples, by ensuring all samples are taken aseptically to avoid cross-contamination.
    • Managing external analytical/ chemical tests as per the testing schedule.
    • Evaluate and trend results to ensure compliance to specification.

    Quality Control  :

    • Identify any non-conforming product, communicating this information to the relevant stakeholders and assisting the QA Technologist in determining the root cause and corrective action for the non-conformance.
    • Together with the QA Technologist, establish testing plans for all new raw materials and final products.
    • Recording of all results on relevant database and release for products not requiring positive Micro release.
    • Ensuring that samples that require external testing are placed in the appropriate areas for sending.

    Cross Dock Depot Controller - Peninsula

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Cross Dock Depot Controller to join our Vector Logistics Division. The role will be based in Peninsula and report to the Logistics Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an individual with a take-charge attitude, has decision making abilities, has strong compliance and work ethic. RCL FOODS entrusts the responsible to manage and maintain the cross dock team at the depot, thereby ensuring that productivity and performance are maximized and oversee and control the Inbound, sortation and outbound processes in order to have efficient flow through the facility and ensure the accurate loading of stock at the correct temperature.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A 3-year national diploma in logistics, fleet and/or warehouse management.
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license - suggest this person have an EC license.
    • Forklift license.
    • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a similar environment. SAP knowledge.
    • Trackmatic (Advantageous).
    • Inbound, outbound and stock handling processes.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Inbound Control:

    • Control the daily receiving process by receiving products in good condition.
    • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Business Processes Training is followed and conducted for all Outbound trucks Outbound Control.
    • Control the functions of outbound, ensuring products are dispatched out to customer.
    • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Business Processes Training is followed and conducted for all Outbound Trucks:
    • Ensure that all orders leave the warehouse correctly packed and damage free.
    • Load the products in the correct sequence, per customer on the correct vehicle so that the vehicles can depart on time.
    • Ensure all invoicing has been completed accurately and correct where necessary.
    • Manage and facilitate the process of loading goods onto trucks and ensure all products are sealed for transport to customers.

    Customer Liaison:

     

    • Deal with issues around damaged stock or stock shortages.
    • Check that details on invoices coincide with those on the orders.
    • Notify customers should any transport incident have a likely impact on delivery.
    • Work with the planners at the control tower to schedule customer deliveries according to the time window process and optimization of route adherence.
    • Verify orders and liaise with customers on point of receiving, making use of the SAP System.

    Stock Control:

     

    • Oversee and control all returns be it due to shorts, overs and or cross picks identified on the routes and ensure that uplifts scheduled and carried out coincide with company protocol and or procedure.
    • Track inbound/outbound damage trends, establish root causes and take the appropriate corrective action.
    • Ensure frozen, chilled and ambient stock is kept in the appropriate condition.
    • Liaise with the respective hub in concluding investigations of stock losses and assist in taking the appropriate course of action in eliminating the cause thereof.

    Warehouse Maintenance Management:

    • Monitor daily Absenteeism and or overtime on the BLICK system for all staff assigned to the facility.
    • Manage and monitor the condition of the warehouse ensuring that:
    • The warehouse is kept clean.
    • Damaged goods are dealt with according to Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Lighting is adequate and doors open and close easily.
    • Areas in need of attention are reported to the appropriate Manager for address.
    • All equipment and machinery are in good working conditions.
    • Apply appropriate and relative housekeeping principles with the aim of ensuring compliance with Occupational health and Safety, Food Safety and ISO protocol, requirements and standards are maintained at all times.

    Fleet Control:

    • Manage the daily schedule. Check that a job card has been allocated to work and that the driver has managed to complete the form correctly.
    • Ensure that drivers complete all forms and or all the checklist every morning and afternoon to establish if there are any concerns and or items of address.
    • Request complaints and difficulties for the day and take the appropriate action.
    • Manage and facilitate the process of loading goods onto trucks and ensure all products are sealed for transport to customers.
    • Monitor transport performance against benchmarks by obtaining vehicle exception reports from the tracking department as a means of monitoring drivers’ conduct and vehicle performance.
    • Take the necessary disciplinary action depending on the particular instance or trend.
    • Build a culture of asset care through counselling discussions with staff, particularly drivers.
    • Consolidate, on an ongoing basis, accident / incident reports that display each driver’s conduct and make appropriate decisions on the sanction depending on the severity of the incident.
    • Conduct physical checks on vehicles, identify areas that require attention and take the necessary action to resolve any issues.
    • Analyze the details on the monthly vehicle inspection sheets and take the necessary action.
    • Record the specific details of maintenance and repair requirements for each vehicle and send that detail to the workshop indicating the dates when vehicles will be required.
    • Report daily to the Logistics Manager on the trucks, indicating trucks that have been booked off.


    Compliance Control:

     

    • Ensure that all drivers have valid driver’s licenses and PDP’s.
    • Ensure all staff members comply with health and safety requirements.
    • Investigate and report on all injuries on duty (IOD’s).
    • Implement safe working procedures.
    • Verify temperature for the entire warehouse by analyzing the temperature worksheet.
    • Ensure frozen stock is maintained at above minus 18 and chilled not below minus 1.
    • Ensure staff understand and comply with the standards set by ISO 22 000 and HACCP.
    • Certify that a new load always enters a clean and well maintained vehicle highlighting the significance of quality.

    Security Control:

    • Investigate hijacking incidents to establish whether or not they are genuine cases. Ensure that all stock leaves the warehouse with proper documentation.
    • Ensure cameras are focused on risk areas such as entry and exit points and on staff activity/inactivity to ensure staff are appropriately utilized and productive.
    • Ensure that security staff check staff leaving for tea and lunch breaks.
    • Ensure all trucks leaving the warehouse are sealed and recorded in a sealed register.
    • Check the seals on warehouse doors on a daily basis.

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Group Services Division. The role will be based in Bedfordview and will report to the Credit Supervisor. RCL FOODS is looking for a proactive and assertive individual who has a good understanding of credit management and takes responsibility for driving operation objectives and individual performance against defined metrics. RCL FOODS entrusts the incumbent to facilitate the achievement of customer collection targets, essential to the profitability of the Company, are met and to manage overdue accounts, reduce the Company’s risk and minimize losses.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • At least 3-5 years of experience in a credit and logistics environment.
    • FMCG and export experience is essential
    • Relevant Finance Diploma or Degree.
    • Must have a good understanding and knowledge of Credit management and analysis, Compliance requirements, and Credit business processes and practices.
    • Sap experience required 1-2 years
    • Worked on retail accounts Masscash & Makro (Preferable)

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Credit Control:

    • Generate and dispatch invoices or Pod’s on time to enable payment.
    • Receive remittance advices from customers and allocate appropriately.
    • Process all discounts and rebates for the Credit Supervisor to release before close of month-end.
    • Clear all allocated cash in the General Ledger.
    • Allocate all credits weekly that has been processed to the account.
    • Ensure statements that are sent automatically via Capilink is received by the customer.
    • Preparation and checking of all rebate deductions from customer payments and the transferring of the deduction to a rebate account that is within the agreed Trade Agreement and specifications.
    • Accurate cash forecasting as and when required within deadline times

    Customer Administration:

    • Maintain compliance to credit limits for each customer and highlight possible non-conformance to the responsible supervisor before they exceed defined limits.
    • Liaise with customers to inform them of the balances once statements have been distributed, to ensure interim payment is made or to assist with application/documents for increases in credit limits where indicated, by the credit analysis report.
    • Report on all transactions on 60 days plus to the Credit Supervisor.
    • Process ‘stop supply’ instructions on Syspro where customer non-payment payment has occurred, ensuring that all the necessary instructions and authorisations have been received.
    • Where possible, liaise with customers to rectify account problems before “stop supply” instructions are implemented.
    • Advise customers when the account has been blocked and ensure that all necessary internal departments are aware of the status of the customer/account.
    • Continuous releasing and checking of orders as per requirement and timelines 

    Claim Processing:

    • Load pricing claims on live schedule for investigation timeously.
    • Manage stock claims (returns, damaged stock, shortage etc) by forwarding claims not credited to relevant depot.
    • Assess if credit has been passed on queries and, if it not, submit supporting documents electronically to relevant depot.
    • Manage invalid claims by providing the necessary proof or backup documents to the customer.

    Management Accountant: Commercial Reporting - Pretoria West

    RCL FOODS is seeking a Management Accountant. The role will be based in Pretoria West Mill and reports to the Commercial Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an individual who is analytical, has attention to detail and experienced in management accounting at a plant (Beneficial).     • Monthly consolidation reporting of financial performance of all the operating units  in the agreed format which will include commentary on key performance areas
    • Compiling weekly and monthly performance dashboards
    • Preparation, consolidation and formatting of quarterly performance information for inclusion in Monthly/Quarterly performance decks
    • Loading of monthly Income Statement results to group platform according to group reporting deadlines
    • Perform monthly and Quarterly ROIC calculations
    • Cash flow and balance sheet reports as required

    • Business Plan and Forecasting    
    •  Support the annual business plan and quarterly forecasting processes for Baking
    • Consolidation all Operating Unit business plans and quarterly forecasts schedules
    • Compile supporting information for the Baking business plan and quarterly forecasts presentations
    • Commercial analysis and evaluation                    
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounting reports.
    • Obtain input and commentary on performance, progress and reasons for variances, where relevant.
    • Identify and report irregularities and potential problems are reported to the Commercial Manager.
    • Provide calculations and detailed analysis emanating from any queries that arise.
    • Perform regular market and industry analysis and benchmark calculations

    Information and Data management:

    • Ensure all management tools (management accounts) are accurate and complete
    • Ensure and manage the GL accounts and other system information to verify integrity
    • Input and maintain central performance reporting dashboards

    Governance:

    •  Ensure that RCL Foods ethical standards and the requirements of the RPM are adhered to
    • Report and or escalate any areas of non- compliance appropriately

    Irrigation Engineer - Malelane

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is currently looking for an Irrigation Engineer to join our Sugar Business Unit. The role will be based in Malelane (Mpumalanga) and report to the Engineering Manager. 
    • RCL Foods entrusts the Irrigation Engineer to improve the irrigation performance and water application efficiencies of our irrigation systems by investigating, evaluating and recommending practical and cost effective improvement strategies and plans to achieve optimum production levels at minimum operational cost, in terms of the supply of irrigation water from pump stations, the conveyance of irrigation water through pipelines, the storage in balancing and storage dams, and the effective application of irrigation water through infield irrigation systems.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Eng. Degree with 10 years' operational experience or B. Tech Degree / Advanced Diploma with 15 years' operational experience within any of the following disciplines: Civil, Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experienced in water and irrigation management, Engineering contract management, project management, financial management, strategic management and stakeholder management.
    • Ability to operate within a matrix structure.
    • To be considered for appointment, candidate must be a South African citizen and hold a valid driver’s license.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the hydraulic and cost performance of irrigation systems.
    • Evaluate pump performance by measuring flow rates and pressures to ensure pumps function efficiently.
    • A hands-on approach for root cause analysis on pumps, pumping systems and irrigation systems as well as recommend sustainable solutions.
    • Assess the condition of pump stations and irrigation systems and recommend improvements.
    • Investigate and drive adoption of new technologies in irrigation, including automation and energy management.
    • The work typically requires a 70:30 time ratio between irrigation assessments on the farms and administrative work.
    • Written and verbal reporting to senior management on the function and continuous improvement.
