    Locum Physiotherapist

    • Locum Physiotherapist needed at Tokai Physiotherapy Inc. The successful incumbent will assist in the sub-acute facility in conjunction with the current Physiotherapists based there.
    • Tokai Estate is a spectacular 60 bed fully accredited sub-acute facility providing high quality care to patients of all ages.

    Purpose: 

    • Provide efficient and effective Physiotherapy services at Tokai Estate to a variety of patients, post surgery or acute hospitalisation (eg. stroke, total hip replacement, spinal surgery, dementia). 
    • To develop specialised skills in all aspects of rehabilitation and contribute to developing and maintaining an effective and evidence based service.
      The treatment goal is to improve the medical and overall patient outcome during the physical rehabilitation period and to facilitate a safe and medically stable discharge, with the appropriate level of care. 
    • This involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team (doctors, occupational therapist, speech therapist, social worker, dietician)

    Qualification:

    • Physiotherapist with a BSc degree
    • HPCSA registration
    • Must have malpractice insurance

    • Experience working in an acute/sub-acute environment
    • Willing to work within a multidisciplinary and nursing team environment

    Senior Carer

     Duties include but is not limited to the following:

    • The Senior Carer is responsible according to the approved care plan by directly providing practical, physical, social and emotional care for residents at the healthcare centre. Senior Carers contribute to the creation of a therapeutic and relaxing environment within the healthcare facility, ensuring the dignity of residents are maintained at all times. 

    Administration & Reporting

    • Chart and timestamp all activities on ECP as per procedure
    • Report to Duty Sister any changes or causes of concern in a resident’s condition

    Patient Care (according to care plan)

    • Attend to all activities as per the ECP care plan per resident and chart activity accordingly, including but not limited to personal hygiene, incontinence, dress, feeding and companionship
    • Maintain safe and therapeutic environment for all residents in terms of care plan and their personal diagnosis

    Company Policies & Procedures

    • Maintain awareness, understanding and adherence to company rules, policies and procedures
    • Treat all residents with respect and dignity

    Infection Control

    • Comply to all company policies and procedures regarding infection control
    • Maintain good personal hygiene as per the relevant policies and procedures

    Health & Safety

    • Comply with company health and safety standards in terms of activities of work
    • Be aware of duty of care and measures to protect vulnerable residents
    • Report any health and safety contraventions to the Duty Sister

    Activities & Exercise

    • Assist OT with the daily OT sessions
    • Assist the Carer Team Leader with Carer run activities

    Requirements
    Education and Qualifications:

    • Acknowledged Carer training from reputable organisation advantageous 
    • SETA accreditation will be an advantage

    Experience

    • Proven experience as a Carer or experience in a similar environment 

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Skilled in basic computer knowledge
    • Knowledge of caring principles in caring for the aged, this includes:
    • Core carer competency skills
    • Dementia care
    • Palliative care
    • Rehabilitative care

    Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor

    • We are seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor at our facility Cle Du Cap in Kirstenhof (Southern Suburbs) to carry out various cleaning duties and to ensure our facilities are in an orderly condition. 

    Job duties include, but is not limited to the following:

    • Healthcare and Body Corporate -  General cleaning of all areas within the Healthcare and within the Body Corporate/Clubhouse including but not limited to dusting, sweeping vacuuming, mopping
    • Carrying out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects upon request
    • Specialised cleaning in the Healthcare
    • Chemical and stock management
    • Reporting any areas of concern and any maintenance requirements such as a light bulb replacement, leaking wash basin etc
    • Assistant to the supervisor and takes on full scope of responsibilities in their absence
    • Follow all health and safety regulations 

    Experience and knowledge:

    • 18 months cleaning experience / Healthcare cleaning experience (advantageous)
    • Supervisory experience 
    • Computer Literacy 
    • Excellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances and their operations
    • Knowledge regarding the proper use of cleaning/chemical agents

    Estate Manager

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    Property and Equipment Management

    • Be instrumental in directing the coordinating, planning and of all essential amenities and services such  as security,  gardens, waste disposal, recycling, etc.
    • Implement the strategic planning of projects, systems and future development. 

    Service Delivery 

    • Demonstrate  and  promote a strong service and professional ethos throughout all staff and contractors to maintain the highest levels of service delivery.
    • Be responsible for the management of the maintenance assistants and coordinate day-to-day duties.
    • Identify required Estate maintenance and manage progression.
    • Supervise and  prioritise tasks projects.
    • Coordinate and supervise resident maintenance requests timeously and proactively.
    • Comply with company rosters and schedules to drive the efficiency of service delivery.
    • Manage requisition system for Body Corporate and Health Care.  
    • Authorise requisitions and follow up delivery.

    Contractor and Supplier Management 

    • Facilitate communication between management and contractors to ensure streamlined service delivery.
    • Supervise security, garden service and on-site maintenance contractors.      
    • Manage the service delivery of agreed external service provider’s SLA and deliver feedback to provider should service not be provided as per agreement or in the case of any staff issues that might occur 

    Staff Management  

    • Manage the driver, maintenance assistant and groundsmen 
    • Monitor staff attendance through daily clock to pay systems.
    • Monitor staff holidays and ensure the normal functioning of tasks during these times through allocation of duties.
    • Participate with the HR department in recruitment and selection of staff.
    • Manage staff time owing where applicable in communication with payroll.
    • Encourage your staff to maximise their potential through leadership, training, support and guidance.

     Management and Collaboration

    • Prepare reports and recommendations to the Village Manager for discussion at trustee and management meetings. 
    • Abide by company policies and processes. 
    • Promote good communication as part of the management team in the Estate among residents, staff, tenants and visitors. 
    • Execute duties by effective, sensitive and information communication with staff members, contractors, management, residents and authorities and by fostering strong relationships with all these stakeholders.
    • Manage change and lead to ensure minimum disruption to core activities, e.g. disruption during renovations and ongoing development.

    Health and Safety 

    • Conduct regular iPad audits and ensure that all  non-compliance  items  are resolved as quickly as possible.
    • Convene and chair monthly Health & Safety Meetings.
    • Ensure all   involved parties and stakeholders are regularly informed of updated processes/changes, i.e. emergency services, security, elected emergency staff and resident volunteers, etc.
    • Conduct regular Village “Walk-Abouts” and be proactive in identifying possible hazards and implementing solutions.
    • Prioritise the safety of residents and employees.
    • Be available for emergency situations, e.g. evacuations, etc.
    • Manage Security Contractors and check reporting systems, implement and continually update the Security Operating Plan for the Estate

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • Tertiary qualification advantageous

     Experience and Knowledge:

    • Proven experience within a similar role
    • Experience in management of systems and procedures also the implementation and development thereof. 
    • Solid experience in a management and leadership position, management of service providers and SLA’s
    • Experience in managing budgets 
    • Knowledge of health and safety
    • Experience in maintenance and basic building knowledge

    Skills and Attributes

    • Computer literate (experience in Google Drive, Sheets and Docs preferable)
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
