    Security Operations Manager - Facilities Department - Pretoria

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Developing and implementing physical security policies, protocols, and procedures to maintain security standards. 
    • Providing input and controlling the budget for security operations and monitoring expenses.
    • Organise and oversee all physical and personnel security operations of the FSCA. 
    • Directs the activities of security personnel to ensure protection of the organisation’s personnel, physical assets, properties, and resources.
    • Demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. 
    • Be committed to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. 
    • Create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.
    • Manage and oversee the security contract with the security services provider, ensuring good governance and compliance.
    • Responsible for the efficient delivery of the security services in line with the Security and Facilities Business Unit’s business plan.
    • Manage corporate security to ensure that the FSCA remains efficient and can effectively continue to deliver its mandate.
    • Monitor emerging security trends and developments in security management.
    • Co-ordinate security engagement in internal and external forums.
    • Project manage security management initiatives.
    • Draft security reports and proposals on security measures.
    • Co-ordinate and compile inputs from FSCA on improvement to security measures and processes.  
    • Provide relevant and reliable business information and statistics within specified time frames.
    • Effectively communicate on security measures and their applications for various stakeholders.
    • Review service provider SLAs continuously to improve service.
    • Ensuring that all physical security risks have been identified, treated and mitigated to an acceptable level.

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Good interpersonal and communication skills; service and customer orientated; leadership skills; ability to deal with complaints and problem solving; meticulous; accurate; methodical and systematic. The candidate also must be computer literate.
    • The candidate will be subjected to competency assessment and integrity checks before an appointment is made.  

    Requirements

    • A relevant Security Management Diploma, or equivalent qualification and Certifications. Valid PSIRA A-Grade certificate.  At least 7 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a corporate security environment with proven experience as a security manager or similar position.  In-depth knowledge of protection services will be beneficial.A clear criminal record is essential and overtime work will be required. Ex-SAPS or SANDF experience in protection services will be beneficial.

    Specialist Analyst - Prudential Supervision

    Key Performance Areas

    • Analysis of financial statements, statistics and reports of registered retirement funds;
    • Conduct peer reviews of analysts work in consultation with  management;
    • Guide liquidators through the liquidations on funds in terms of   llegislation;
    • Deal decisively with enquiries, queries, extensions, exemptions, etc. in terms of departmental deadlines and policies; and
    • On request, participate and assist to plan the on-site visits, scheduling and conducting the on-site visits and reporting on findings and recommending corrective actions on other tasks related to    financial statements, statistics and   reports.

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: excellent command of both written and spoken English; be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and workflow systems; have demonstrable skills in the collection and analysis of financial information, records and returns, report writing and other forms of communication; be disciplined, reliable, organised, effective, efficient, trustworthy, self-confident, friendly, cheerful, co-operative and supportive; have sound judgment and an ability to work well both independently and in a team; and demonstrate a commitment to promoting high work standards and the fulfilment of the objects of the FSCA and the protection and enhancement of its reputation.

    Requirements

    • B. Com Hons Financial Accounting or CTA. The candidate must have at least 5 years’ relevant working experience. A good knowledge and exposure of the Pension Funds Act is a prerequisite. The candidate must have successfully completed articles while studies towards a CA(SA) or equivalent and working experience in the retirement funds industry and/or financial sector would be an advantage.
