    Senior Manager: Application Development, Support & Maintenance

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Provide strategic inputs to the strategy of the business unit (BU) and manage the output of the centre to ensure implementation of the BU balance score card (BSC) initiatives.
    •  To drive the strategic direction of AGSA software and application products & services considering emerging and legacy technologies.

    Specialist: Information & Cybersecurity

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Support the implementation of the business unit balance score card projects and initiatives.

    Product management

    Anti-Virus Management:

    • Monitor gateway firewall for malicious activity and restrict network access using the firewall policy as per business requirements.
    • Administer and monitor the firewall to prevent virus attacks from an external source.
    • Scan all emails from external and internal sources for viruses and malicious attachments at the Microsoft Exchange server.
    • Administer and maintain an enterprise-wide cloud-based anti-virus solution and ensure that all clients have the most recent updates.

    Access Administration and User Support:

    • Administer and maintain a remote access system (SSL VPN) for AGSA users.
    • Provide second-line support to AGSA users with any security related queries within the SLA time frame.

    Audit Process

    Planning

    • Advise audit teams on technical matters related to the infrastructure sector

    Technical Specialist : Quality Reviewer

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Product Management: Pro Active reviews and audit quality support

    • Keep abreast of changes in audit Quality Management (QM) related audit standards and ensure AGSA compliance at audit engagement level.
    • Assist in development and implementation of audit Quality Support policies and procedures in the operations of the AGSA and ensure compliance with the relevant audit standards.
    • Co-ordinate and implement pro-active reviews that actively respond to audit quality risks and ensure quality on AGSA audits before issuance of audit reports. This can be done on a number of AGSA high profile and significant risk engagements
    • Participate in any other pro-active strategic initiatives to drive the improvement in audit quality before the issuance of audit reports in terms of the AGSA strategy.
    • Analyse transversal Quality Support (QS) findings for each audit cycle and communicate/consult with the audit, and support business units to facilitate corrective action. (Conduct awareness sessions to the different audit business units.)

    The successful candidate should possess the following:

     CA (SA) ;

    Legal Specialist: Commercial Legal Services

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Contributes to the achievement of the BU balanced score card initiatives.
    • Contributes to the preparation of AGSA accountability reports.
    • Contributes to the compilation of management information on commercial legal activities and assists with analysis on trends in performance.

    Product Management

    • Assists in the provision of authoritative commercial legal advice and management of litigation to contribute to the financial viability of the AGSA through:

    Contract management

    • Analyses internal instructions and consult stakeholders.
    • Drafts and reviews MoAs and addenda thereto.
    • Advises stakeholder on any potential risk to be considered;
    • Advises stakeholder on negotiations with service providers.
    • Advises stakeholders on delegations with regards to signing authority.
    • Conducts research on developments in contractual law and inform the organisation of the impact thereof.

    Environmental scanning

    • Actively scans the legal environment for matters of interest to the AGSA.

    Litigation on audits and material irregularities

    Deputy Business Unit Leader

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Contributes to the formulation and implement organizational strategic initiatives.
    • Develop the BU BSC and direct the implementation of the BU operational strategies and plans.
    • Monitor the implementation of the BU and organizational strategies and plans - where necessary take the necessary corrective action.

    Product Management

    • Direct the audit operations in line with the relevant audit methodology and standards;
    • Direct and drive the business unit-wide audit strategy for assigned areas and measure progress against reported BU goals.
    • Coordinate resources for auditing activities and plans including integrated audits with other business units (SAS) and external audit firms on pre-issuance and Contract Work activities to ensure strategic objectives are met.

    • Drive the implementation of the Business Unit stakeholder engagement plan in line with the AGSA stakeholder engagement framework
    • Engage with the stakeholders as per the engagement plan which includes consideration for political sensitivity, complexity and seniority.
    • Interact with relevant oversight structures and relevant committees regarding briefings on audit reports / outcomes.

    People Management

    • Develop and facilitate implementation of People Plan
    • Facilitate and monitor the implementation of BU transformation strategies.
    • Drive Vision achievement/ organisation alignment through impact-driven strategic conversations with internal staff on an on-going basis.
    • Ensure effective administration of the training office accreditation
    • Implement BU initiatives to improve culture and staff engagement.
    • Develop a model for creation of a sustainable pipeline of resources that are able to service large and complex auditees including specialists skills.

    Financial management

    • Revenue and expenditure management and control (monitor BU budget)
    • Provide strategic direction on the financial viability of the business unit - especially with the ailing SOE as they have significant impact on the BU currently.

     Operational management

    • Ensures that BU deliverables are executed economically, efficiently and effectively in terms of recoverability and productivity.
    • Implement interventions to collect debt and improve cash flow.

    Qualification & Experience

    • This position requires a minimum qualification of registered CA (SA) or RGA or ACCA.
    • CA/SA qualification would be preferred.

    • Atleast 2 years’ experience in the audit of schedule 2 State Owned Entity.
