    Nurse Mentor

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Health System Strengthening

    • Mentoring of staff at facilities in all program areas of CCMT
    • Initiate and organize internal training and workshops based on needs and request
    • Support the Department of Health and collaborate with other NGOs on implementation of CCMT program and community events
    • Ensure implementation of the recent CCMT guidelines and protocols
    • Identify program support needs at facilities and advise accordingly
    • Facilitate integration of different CCMT services

    Monitoring and Skill Development

    • Design development plan, based on identified needs and develop materials together with senior medical officers
    • Support the Department of Health in conducting training 
    • Empower colleagues (e.g., orientation and knowledge transfer)
    • Provide solution on complicated cases together with clinic’s staff including referrals to relevant discipline at different levels of care
    • Mentoring on acute service delivery in incidental cases including dispensing, recording, and counselling

    Strengthening internal role and Administration

    • Assist all other Anova projects with planning, organizing and execution of support activities 
    • Assist with quarterly statistics collection
    • Attend sub-district office meetings, all other relevant meetings/ workshops and skills development initiatives
    • Submit work plans, requests, and reports timeously as agreed
    • Ensure and maintain required quality of written communication including reports and emails     
    • Ensure documentation of tracing activities at facility level by staff involved and at community level by WBOTs teams reporting to supported facilities
    • Support QI projects as assigned
    • Support other interventions prioritized at any point during the performance contract period

    Research

    •  Do Research work as when required 
    • Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Professional Nurse with Midwifery Diploma or Degree and registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
    • NIMART trained, mentored, and certified as competent
    • 2 to 5 years’ experience in working as a Professional Nurse including work in TB/HIV/AIDS environment
    • Have knowledge and experience in TB/HIV/AIDS management
    • Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Able to communicate in English and any other local language
    • Proficiency in MS office

    Linkage Officer

     Key Duties and Responsibilities 

    HIV testing and Counselling

    • Provide HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) services at facilities to reach targeted
    • Conduct pre and post-test HIV counselling for all clients recruited
    • Screen all clients for TB and STI
    • Conduct health talks for clients that are waiting to be attended
    • Distribute IEC materials related to HIV, TB and STI

    Linkage to care

    • Emphasise linkage to care from Pre-test counselling to avoid linkage delay
    • Refer/link all positive clients to care
    • Refer all positive clients to Tracing officers daily
    • Refer all STI and TB suspects  to the facility for further management

     Quality assurance

    • Ensure that testing site is well equipped to provide high quality testing services, records and report accurate HIV test to clients
    • Ensure compliance of quality assurance procedure
    • Perform routine independent quality control prior to using the HIV test kits

     Reporting requirement

    •  Submit reports on a daily , weekly and Monthly basis
    • Complete the approved consent forms for HIV testing and TB screening
    • Safely store the copies of the consent forms

    Minimum qualifications and experience

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • At least 2 years’ experience working as an HTS counsellor
    • Certificate in Basic HAST, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling
    • Knowledge of DoH, HTS guidelines & protocols
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team
    • Be able to work with little supervision
    • Good communication skills

    HTS (HIV Testing Service) Officer

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure Priority population are tested at the facilities
    •  Ensure that all clients tested HIV positive are initiated on ART
    • Conduct in-service training and mentor Facilities on performing HIV quality assurance and HIV counselling as per counselling and testing guidelines
    • Work within the team to provide support and coordinate assigned program activities to be implemented from community to facility levels
    • Participate in and implement the analysis of bottlenecks and gaps early, for all HTS activities
    • Implement aligned tools to support the program
    • Conduct the SPI-ART checklist assessment to prepare facilities for external assessment
    • Ensure facilities reach their HTS targets through mentorship
    • Conduct file audit of clients on ART
    • Provide direct supervision to Anova linkage officers
    • Application of quality improvement frameworks in DOH facilities and to strengthen relations with the surrounding communities

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Science, Public Health,
    • At least 3 - 5 Years of experience working in Health
    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • National certificate on HIV/AIDS (trained in basic HIV counselling and testing)
    • 3 Years’ HTS experience and working with people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)
    • Supervisory experience an advantage
    • Trained in HTS mentorship
    • Knowledge of DoH HTS guidelines and protocols
    • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills in English including writing reports
    • Ability to speak Northern Sotho (Sepedi)
    • Able and willing to work flexible hours as needed and without constant or close supervision

    Senior Technical Advisor: Supply Chain

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Provide Technical Support

    • Provide technical assistance from a pharmaceutical perspective to all districts, and supervise the implementation at the various levels, down to facility level.
    • Lead the adoption and technical implementation of approved DOH, SAHPRA and other relevant bodies, legislation, regulations and policies.
    • Provide supervision, coaching and other capacity building to Pharmacy teams and other related stakeholders as and when required.
    • Develop focused technical assistance plans that cover focus areas such as:
    • Forecasting and ordering, especially for prevention and treatment of HIV/TB and STIs.
    • Stock management and replenishment.
    • Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution programme
    • Pharmacovigilance
    • Provide guidance to District Pharmacy teams on managing stock levels, appropriate use of bin-cards, accurate documentation, appropriate storage of drugs and organisation of pharmacy departments within facilities.
    • Identify challenges across facilities and districts and working with Programme Managers and District Pharmacy Managers, develop innovative ideas to solve them.
    • Health Systems Strengthening  
    • Participate in strategic planning sessions and develop implementation plans to improve pharmaceutical service delivery, including stock and supply issue monitoring.
    • Develop programme specific and general pharmacy plans in accordance with DOH and donor requirements.
    • Develop pharmacy specific Standard Operating Procedures and train Anova’s pharmacy teams on their adoption, as well as monitor their correct and consistent implementation across districts.
    • Ensure facilities have access to, and are familiar with, all the latest NAS guidelines, as well as relevant national and provincial guidelines, protocols, algorithms and IEC materials in relation to pharmacy.
    • Lead the review of programme data related to pharmacy and provide feedback to programme teams and their managers, fostering a culture of evidence-based programming.
    • Work closely and in collaboration with other partners to maximize partnership strengths and effectively collaborate to implement program goals.
    • Ensure timely reporting of all supported sites programme indicators for internal use, PEPFAR reporting and DOH requirements, according to set indicators.

    Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacy Systems and Drug Supply Management

    • Lead the implementation and scale up of DOH approved pharmacy related systems such as Stock Visibility Solution and RxSolution across Anova’s supported clinics.
    • Support and monitor the implementation of any drug inventory systems, including those dealing with drug inventory, product transfer, quality control and maintenance of item master file.
    • Support Programme Managers and their teams to implement Technical Working Groups (TWG’s) guidance and any other relevant protocols.
    • Provide supply chain expertise to district pharmacy managers and programme managers to anticipate and mitigate drug shortages.
    • Advice district pharmacy teams on inventory tracking systems for all products to ensure product availability and supply integrity.
    • Support stockpile audits to ensure correct implementation of approved monitoring systems.
    • Work with pharmacy managers to implement necessary changes to ordering and stock monitoring systems.

    Team and Stakeholder Engagement, and Reporting

    • Be familiar with all Anova policies, SOPs and ensure compliance thereof.
    • Support programme managers on the development of performance metrics for the pharmacy teams.
    • Identify training needs within pharmacy district teams and motivate for its implementation.
    • Represent Anova and participate in partner meetings and National, Provincial and District level, technical working groups, workshops, conferences as and when required.
    • Attend team and staff meetings within Anova as and when required.
    • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on supply chain, drug stock, decanting issues, and other relevant themes that contribute to Anova’s reporting to donors and DOH.         

    Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • BPharm (Hons) or equivalent from a recognised institution.
    • Valid Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in pharmaceutical supply chain, or healthcare distribution/supplier.
    • Comprehensive understanding of HIV/AIDS, TB, and related diseases.
    • Computer literate - MS office suite.
    • Master’s degree in pharmacy administration, healthcare administration, business, or other relevant subject area will be an added advantage.
    • Mentoring and coaching experience.
    • Experience in facilitating pharmacy-related training and workshops would also be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of the National Adherence Strategy (NAS).
    • Knowledge of latest SA guidelines in terms of ART, TB and HIV management of adults, paediatrics, PMTCT, etc.
    • Basic knowledge of data collection tools such as Tier.Net.
    • Analytical, attention to detail and problem solving.

    Technical Advisor: HIV/TB Programme

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Programme Implementation and Quality Management  

    • Design and/refine implementation plan for relevant and/or new HIV/TB guidelines.
    • Design quality management frameworks to address service delivery gaps and quality of care.
    • Support Department of Health in programme delivery by ensuring quality management utilised is relevant and yield expected results.
    • Work with the Department of Health’s Health Information Management and Anova Strategic Information units to set up functional data systems, conduct data analysis and ensure effective monitoring processes.
    • Provide capacity building and technical support or guidance to the Gauteng Department of Health’s provincial HAST team (and District teams where required) on programme design, delivery, performance monitoring and review.

    Technical Assistance on Quality Improvement Health Systems  

    • Conduct quality assessment and programme audits in line with Department of Health requirements.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and provide SMART recommendations to Department of Health and other stakeholders.
    • Conduct site visits and capacity building for various districts, programmes and identified community or other stakeholders.
    • Identify risks to programme implementation and develop mitigation plans in partnership with Department of Health and other stakeholders.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Contribute and represent Anova in stakeholder meetings.
    • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Department of Health, Anova stakeholders such as programme managers, clinical specialists, and other relevant partners.
    • Provide capacity building and technical support to relevant Department of Health and Anova stakeholders.
    • Participate and contribute in the development of implementation plans for relevant policies and standard operating procedures for quality improvement.

    Administration & Reporting

    • Keep records of all implemented quality management and quality improvement activities
    • Provide reports and documents for all internal and external performance records to measure impact on the programmes.
    • Provide all relevant quality management reports as and when required i.e., weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually or on adhoc basis.
    • Collate and present quality management reports to the funders and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Team with the other public health unit and other academics to publish work done on behalf of Anova.

    Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Medical Doctors degree or equivalent qualification.
    • Professional valid registration with HPCSA or relevant body etc.
    • Knowledge of latest HIV/TB/PMTCT guidelines
    • Knowledge of 95-95-95 strategy and other health-related policies
    • At least 10 years’ experience in managing and implementing HIV/TB or public health programmes.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in leadership and engagement with the Department of Health stakeholders
    • In –depth understanding and knowledge of the District, Provincial and National Health Systems.
    • Experience in Health System Strengthening, QA/QI systems development and implementation.
    • Demonstrate initiative and ability to develop, carry out work plans and solve problems.
    • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with various stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel & PowerPoint).
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.

    HTS Coordinator

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee the implementation of Anova’s case finding, case management and retention support activities at facility and community level, in line with 909090 strategy and workplan
    • Oversee the implementation, coordination, and support of all HIV prevention strategies: DREAMS, MINA, PREP, ICT, Risk Screening tool and HIV SS
    • Provide leadership and oversight to Anova Counsellors and HTS Testers allocated to work at primary health care facilities, hospital, and community
    • Work with a team of Anova counsellors and HTS testers and ensure that they meet all required DoH standards to provide case finding, linkage to care and retention in care strategies
    • Oversee implementation and maintenance of HTS/CLI quality improvement activities at facility and community level as required and ensure compliance with DoH policies
    • Identify training needs at facility and community level and make logistical arrangements for such trainings
    • Coordinate all data collection and management processes provided by your teams.
    • Engage in data quality assurance and internal control activities
    • Update project assets registers and inventories
    • Laisse regularly with Anova M&E department to ensure accurate project reports
    • Identify critical programme stakeholders and establish working relationships with them
    • Manage and maintain functional relations with all internal and external stakeholders including DoH and other partners
    • Ensure that project staff participate actively in decision making

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Qualification in Health/ Social Sciences
    • At least 5 years’ experience in project or operations management
    • At least 5 years’ experience in HIV or public health environment
    • Able to demonstrate ability to update and maintain a data repository
    • NIMART Certificate advantageous
    • Computer Literate – MS Office Packages (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel & PowerPoint)
    • Excellent Communication skills and ability to speak one of the local languages
    • Valid driver’s license essential
    • Innovative, organized, analytical and excellent interpretation data skills
    • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and community health issues
