Workshop Assistant (Mechanic) at Rand Water

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 & Min of N2 certificate in Motor/Diesel Mechanic Engineering Studies.
• 2 year experience as an Artisan Assistant/ in mechanic workshop environment.
• Safety training.
• Code 10 drivers’ license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 Test is essential

Primary Duties

• Remove and replace components from plant equipment or vehicles as instructed.
• Dismantle and / or assemble componentsfrom equipment, plant or vehicles as instructed.
• Arrange with Central Depot for servicing/repairs of vehicles.
• Attend Breakdowns and shutdowns.
• Operate piggy back to recover broken /stranded / stuck Rand Water vehicles as instructed by Foreman
•  Load, Transport, offload all the above equipment responsibly
