    Unit Manager: Theatre - Sandton Day Hospital

    ABOUT

    • Intercare Sandton Day Hospital (Pty) Ltd situated in Sandton, seeks an ambitious, talented, goal-driven and self-motivated individual to fulfil the role of Theatre Unit Manager.
    • The purpose of the position is to co-ordinate all the functions and activities related to the provision of quality patient care in a Hospital environment, excellent service to doctors, visitors and support services in a cost effective manner, as well as motivating, supporting and optimising staff performance and education in order to achieve optimum functioning of the unit.


    CRITICAL OUTPUTS

    • Conform with Doctors requirements/expectations, remaining within the scope of practice as well as being patients advocates
    • Ensure the management of all related nursing services and activities in the unit, according to Intercare objectives, policies and procedures
    • Maintain effective discipline in accordance to Intercare’s Code of Conduct and disciplinary codes
    • Ensure safe and correct use of all equipment
    • Monthly monitoring of cost centre expenditure against budget
    • Maintain effective relationships with specialists, external bodies and associations

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Proof of registration as a Registered Nurse with SANC
    • Post basic qualification in Operating Theatre technique essential
    • Relevant Management experience of at least 3 years
    • At least 5 years experience in an Operating theatre
    • Conflict handling & performance management skills
    • Proficient in MS Office
