    Treasury Assistant

    Job Description

    An opportunity has become available for an organised, diligent and effective Assistant to the Company Treasurer who will assist and support the administrative, financial reconciliation and governance requirements of the group, in line with the company’s overall strategy and objectives. The role is based at the Head Office in Cape Town.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supporting the Treasurer in communicating with our banking and insurance partners, including coordinating diaries (internally and externally)
    • Assist with completion and submission of all bank applications, user rights management, bank mandates and general documentation required by banking partners
    • Maintenance of the filing system (paper and digital)
    • Maintain all legal and regulatory requirements in terms of banking and insurance, including maintaining signatory database and all banking documentation
    • Assist with South African Reserve Bank applications and renewals
    • Company Credit Card Management – issuing of new cards, cancellations, reviewing limits and liaising with the bank and cardholders
    • Company Credit Card Management Reconciliation – reconciling the account records to the supporting documents provided by the cardholders. This will include maintaining a schedule of outstanding supporting documents and providing Finance with feedback regarding the classification of expenses
    • General oversight of credit card expenses to ensure compliance with company policies
    • Liaise with insurance brokers regarding insurance policies, cover and claims
    • Ensure required areas of the business are adequately insured
    • Payment of monthly / quarterly insurance premiums
    • Submission and follow up on all insurance claims, including the collation of documents from business
    • Maintain all reports /analysis related to insurance
    • Supporting the Treasurer with forward cover transactions and maintaining an audit trail of all deals
    • Maintain company policies and procedures related to banking, foreign exchange transactions and insurance

    Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required

    • Relevant graduate degree
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience either in Finance or a similar function to the above
    • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
    • Practical knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint would be advantageous
    • Sound business acumen is required
    • General awareness of legislation and regulations applicable to banking, insurance and foreign exchange control in South Africa
