    Travel Designer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Sales agents.
    • Generate and grow sales by securing, costing, and presenting journeys.
    • Foster partnerships with Sales agents through excellent communication and timely service.
    • Attend relevant familiarisation trips to strengthen bonds with agents.
    • Manage new requests from Sales agents from quote to provisional booking.
    • Ensure accurate and timely quotations, aligning with strategic and preferred partners.
    • Utilise applicable specials and maximise the use of preferred suppliers.
    • Flag special needs or high-risk guests to ensure their safety during their journey.
    • Build and nurture strong connections with supplier reservations teams.
    • Maximise mutually beneficial relationships with AP partners and their lodges/camps.
    • Escalate any issues with supplier service delivery to Res managers or product managers.
    • Follow up on outstanding provisional bookings and manage expiry reports.
    • Maintain booking integrity and ensure all relevant documents are uploaded in the booking file.
    • Handle provisional changes efficiently and communicate status updates to Sales agents.
    • Ensure seamless handover of bookings to Journey Specialists for confirmation.
    • Possess extensive knowledge of Southern and East African destinations.
    • Stay up-to-date with regional logistics and industry trends.
    • Maintain in-depth supplier knowledge and continuously update product knowledge.
    • Understand strategic and preferred suppliers deals, specials, and packages.
    • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and familiarisation trips as required.
    • Keep updated with company policies, procedures, and system updates.
    • Embrace a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Matric certificate with mathematics (minimum standard grade or above).
    • Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism or Hospitality is advantageous.
    • 4-5 years of senior experience in handling customer relationships and developing travel products.
    • In-depth knowledge of Southern and East Africa.
    • Personal or educational travel experience is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of Mozambique, Mauritius, and Seychelles is an added advantage.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
    • Working knowledge of TourPlan and WETU or similar booking/operating systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong financial skills.
    • Dynamic, creative, and organised with excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and prioritise demands.
    • High integrity level and ethical conduct.
