    Technical Business Development Manager - Redhat - Midrand

    Purpose:

    • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional with strong core technical skills to join and add value to a dedicated and friendly team.  Responsible for actively driving and managing the pre- sales process with channel partners, the Technical Business Development Manager must be able to articulate the brand’s technology and product portfolio, positioning to both business and technical users.  Primarily engaged in a Pre-sale's technical consultancy role, the Technical Business Development Manager provides technical assistance and guidance during the sales process by identifying customers technical and business requirements, designing a best fit solution, consulting with Vendor technical teams about capabilities, and supporting business sales teams, account managers and partners from both a pre-sales and sales perspective. This involves determining reseller needs, recommending suitable solutions, demonstrating the product's details and features to existing and potential resellers and driving promotional/marketing campaigns to boost brand awareness, increase revenues and achieve profitability goals while ensuring the highest customer satisfaction is achieved.

    Education and Experience:

    • 5 Years plus experience within the IT Industry
    • Matric/Grade 12
    • Tertiary qualification preferential
    • RHCSA and RHCE certification preferential
    • Vendor-specific certifications and accreditations are a pre-requisite and must be current.
    • Server, storage, networking, operating system and application experience is essential.
    • Technical knowledge regarding vendor products and solutions is essential.
    • Software or similar vendor application and/or hardware sales experience
    • Experience in RedHat Sales/Architecture/Technical Sales
    • Demonstrated strong written and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including executive-level technical decision-makers.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
    • A high level of business acumen and experience working, bringing technology solutions to solve business challenges.

    Responsibilities:

    • Working with product managers and business development managers in managing partner technical requirements.
    • Provide channel enablement on required technical competencies for partners to reach their desired vendor status - Support, guide, manage and report on partner qualifications and certification in accordance with Vendor expectations.
    • Works with Sales and BDM team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies, produce account specific product, service and sales plans.
    • Regular enablement and update sessions with your partners driving sales plays and technical enablement → webinars, workshops, content, technical training, sales training.
    • Promote targeted product line and lifecycle campaigns with product managers and business development managers creating awareness and supporting marketing efforts.
    • Assisting in the development of support material, build tender responses and proposals for partners as needed.
    • Assist and execute BOF’s, quotes, configurations utilizing vendor knowledge bases/tools and following-up on all logged queries to the point of closure (assigned via Freshdesk)
    • Assists in the analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions with technical emphasis on hardware capabilities, software requirements and systems integration.
    • Acts as technical expert and consultant to develop and propose solutions that meet the technology and business requirements of assigned customers while serving as a trusted technology advisor to customers and internal staff on technical issues or specific business applications within an assigned product portfolio.
    • Build and maintain relationships with Reseller and Vendor technical contacts.
    • Continuously upgrade skills to allow optimum support ability including required vendor certifications, ensuring your vendor certifications are completed/up to date, as per the vendors contractual requirements to the company, remaining current on industry technologies, trends and competitive landscapes.
    • Conducts research, answer questions and removes objections that arise on deals throughout the sales process.
    • Partner recruitment, onboarding, training and enablement
    • Run product & solution demonstrations and POC’s to partners and customers as needed.
    • Lead technical sales calls, make technical and sales presentations to technical staff and top management.
    • Anticipates technology and/or market trends and provides guidance on their application to external customers and feedback of business requirements engineering and marketing organizations. Uses knowledge of technology, products, processes, and selling skills to assess and assist partners.
    • Successfully builds relationships with the account team, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives.
    • Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding.
    • Achieve team and individual targets as set by the business as well as assigned KPA’s

    Competencies:

    • MS Office (Advanced) essential
    • Knowledge regarding accounting principles will be an advantage.
    • Industry related technical certifications – that are current.
    • Technically minded individual.
    • Presentation skills
