• A role has become available for a Supervisor (Shop and Operational) at West Coast Garden Centre. The purpose of this role is tmaximize the sales of the Company’s nursery range of products through effective displays maintenance of sales areas and assistance tcustomers in a helpful and friendly manner, offering advice as and when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors and controls purchases, quality, pricing, labeling, promotions, and displays of all Shop products.
• Ensures that stock levels are always maintained at acceptable levels in line with seasonal requirements.
• Monitors and analyses stock movement.
• Evaluates product range on an ongoing basis and recommend suitable alternatives as requested.
• Promptly attends tproblems with regards ttill point and electronic equipment used for the efficient running of the shop.
• Provide input with regard tmonthly and/or seasonal newsletters for customers.
• Always provides good customer service.
• Assists customers with product selection and answers customer queries giving assistance wherever necessary.
• Provides prompt feedback tcustomers regarding outstanding queries, within the time frames requested.
• Assumes responsibility for the security and safekeeping of all stock in the shop.
• Procures stock in line with sales history.
• Negotiate the best price, terms, quality, and most cost-effective mode of transport.
• Ensures that stock levels are always maintained at acceptable levels in line with seasonal requirements.
• Oversees the general merchandising and ensures that products are neatly displayed, correctly priced, and labeled, regularly cleaned, and dusted, not shop soiled, and meet acceptable standards with the goal of increasing sales.
• Ensures that the shop meets the expectations of the customers and lives up tits predefined brand image.
• Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all areas of the Nursery and ensuring that it is always in a clean and tidy condition.
• Execute advertising campaigns and sales promotions and prepare displays.
• Assist in building, layout, of marketing concepts, and oversee the repackaging of promotional material.
• Provides excellent, professional customer service always and fosters a positive working environment on the nursery floor, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Diploma / Degree in management/retail or similar

Knowledge:

• Garden Centre Shop interior knowledge
• Operational Management of a Garden Centre / Retail Business

Experience:

• 4 years of retail experience

Skills:

• Computer literate
• Customer relations
• Management of staff
• Financial acumen
