Specialist: IT Infrastructure Architecture Services at MTN

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Specialist IT Infrastructure Architecture Services will form a part of a highly-skilled group of IT and management experts responsible for the architectural design and delivery of the MTN Group IT infrastructure services across MTN MANCO and OPCOs. The role furthermore supports Group MANCO with the deployment and utilization of IT assets as well as driving process improvement and efficiencies within the organization.

The Manco IT and Infrastructure team is a small, dynamic and agile function that manages all aspects of Manco IT services (IT Infrastructure support, Asset Management, Service Management, Enterprise Collaboration and Software Services)  as well as drives strategy, innovation and execution at the OPCOs in support of Ambition 2025 and our Group Technology enablement program called OXyGEN

Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

• The Specialist IT Infrastructure Architecture Services will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
• Coordinating delivery aspects of the design and delivery to ensure stable, robust and scalable delivery models
• Coordinate with the different areas of Group IT and company for the procurement, implementation and monitoring of IT corporate infrastructure and solution.
• Function as part of a team of experts and virtual teams that are tasked to identify partners for delivery of new IT products and services that can be implemented across Group IT
• Manage overall product lifecycle of Manco end user IT assets
• Helps to define SLAs and customer-specific and internal stakeholder reporting of services,
• Produce documentation of service: marketing manuals, annexes to contracts (Service Description, Manual of Operations, Pricing, Terms of Service), training documentation and business presentations
• Where applicable, driving Group Operations and CAPEX steerco motivations, Purchase orders, Invoicing related to our IT Infra projects
• Implementing standardized ITSM/ITAM processes within the business unit and improving on existing methodologies, processes and procedures as well as organizational improvements
• Be the key contact for the implementation or IT solution delivery expert and service assurance lead
• Support in the review and management of service requests to ensure all they are correctly prioritized, scheduled and moved through the system as desired
• Execute on team goals in alignment with MTN Group IT Infrastructure Services objectives.
• Responsibility for the IT design, implementation and operations of the shared services platforms (ServiceNow, o365, RPA and Cloud platforms).
• Provide guidance and expertise to stakeholders on Infrastructure Architecture Services related issues.
• Provide insight into (or take the lead on) IT Infrastructure Services projects / programmes / initiatives or objectives.
• Regularly report status, progress, issues and risks to management, with supporting metrics where available

Role Dependencies

• Active support from the Group IT Infrastructure & Mancoo IT General Manager, Senior Management and IT Infrastructure Management
• Understanding of the MTN Technology, OXyGEN and Group CIO strategy
• Understanding of the OpCo technology, business and regulatory context
• Timely decision making and reporting
• Understanding of MTNs Ambition 2025, Platforms 2nd to None and other key business strategy initiatives
• Deep understanding of the Group Technology and Core Design & Delivery strategies
• Deep understanding of Enterprise Automation best practice

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

Education:

• Minimum of 3 year tertiary degree / diploma
• Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body is advantageous
• Fluent in language of country with basic command of English

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialisation coupled with supervising others
• Worked across diverse cultures and geographies (advantageous)
• Self-motivated with strong project and people/ stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in a medium to large organization
• Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
• Strong appreciation and experience within the IT operational domain
