Senior Technician at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Minimum two(2) to five(5) years’ appropriate experience related to prevailing water and sanitation legislation, regulations, policy and procedures; water services infrastructure operations and maintenance
• Knowledge of engineering principles related to water and sewer services
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/GIS
• A valid Code EB driver’s licence
• Incumbent will be required to work independently with limited supervision.

Key Performance Areas

• Provide technical advice pertaining to planned maintenance systems and documentation
• Assist with the implementation of the capital and operating budgets of the region
• To deliver on the capital works programme by: Preparation of theoretical plans to outline and resolve identified problematic areas. Compiling design specifications and tender preparation for various projects.
• Oversee construction and operations to ensure compliance with design and tender specifications
• Support depots with the operation and maintenance of the water and sewer networks
• Providing developers and consultants with services information and understanding the way leaves process.
