Senior Sewing Machine Mechanic - Prestige Cothing - Maitland at TFG (The Foschini Group)

Position Description:

An exciting opportunity has become available in our Maintenance department at Prestige Maitland for a Senior Sewing Machine Mechanic.

As a Senior Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

• Repairing and maintaining a range of industrial sewing machines and sewing equipment
• Setting up and test run a range of industrial sewing machines and sewing equipment
• Keeping maintenance records and update maintenance reports
• Conduct running maintenance
• Assisting and coach learner mechanics
• Maintaining and collecting technical data for machinery and equipment
• Adhere and manage preventative maintenance program on minor and major tasks
• Folder repair
• Assisting with other tasks within the maintenance department
• Overseeing a section on the production floor and ensuring that the sewing machine maintenance needs of the section are met timeously

Requirements to apply:

• + 5years’ experience in Industrial Sewing machine maintenance in a clothing  production environment
• NQF4 Qualification in repairs and maintenance sewing machine or equivalent qualification
• Have the ability to work in a team and additional hours as requested
• Must be able to work in a pressurised environment
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Must have a target driven and quick turnaround approach
