Senior Management Accountant Wax at Sasol

Purpose of Job

• Ensure that sound financial management and reporting practices are implemented and applied in the Business Unit. Ensures effective, accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders. Support the cost and profit centre managers with financial analysis in a proactive and positive/ critical attitude to facilitate decision making.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

• Provide accurate and consistent management reports to cost centre owners 
•  Prepare SAP journals to ensure correct cost allocation between GL accounts and cost centre's. 
•  Evaluate completeness of monthly cost and create provisions/accruals were necessary from the commitment report. 
•  Prepare monthly analysis of cost centres to identify areas of concern to be addressed by cost centre owners 
•  Guidance to cost centre owners on financial decisions including scenario analysis to inform business decisions. 
•  Prepare and update forecast and budgets as per the timeline received. 
•  Perform variance analysis of expenditure against budget and forecast. 
•  Prepare monthly reconciliations/schedules for GL accounts under their control. 
•  Support shutdowns adherence to plan and cost and report capitalized labour as per the guidelines 
•  Assist business to achieve cost targets for Sasol 2.0 by reviewing the calculations and ensuring the ARC tool is updated. 
•  Tracking of financial and operating results against KPIs to be reported to cost centre owners.
•   Provide continuous training to cost centre owners in terms of cost awareness, optimization and available SAP and Power BI cost reports. 
•  Ensure reliable unit cost for key products.
•   Ensure complete and accurate cost reporting 
•  Quantify and report yields, inefficiencies, re-work and wastage. 
•  Evaluate the completeness and accuracy bi-annually of the Bill of materials 
•  Calculate the NRV provision bi-annually as per the guidelines  Calculate activity rates to ensure accurate standard cost estimates
•   Complete Unrealised profit bi-annually as per the communicated timeline 
•  Value and volume of inventory known and understood. 
•  Review mass balances and assist with queries
•   Dead / slow moving stock identified and correctly valued or written off. 
•  Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to drive integration between operations and finance 
•  Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement and trac personal development plant to attain personal performance goals 
•  Perform in-depth cost analysis to monitor costs against Sasol 2.0 targets and highlight concerns

Formal Education

• University Bachelor's Degree in a financial or related field

Min Experience

• Experience: 6+ years relevant experience
