Senior Legal Counsel at Premier FMCG (Pty) Ltd

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of issues, including commercial contracts, property, and employment law.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, particularly in areas such as food safety, consumer protection, and environmental standards.
• Manage and resolve disputes and litigation, representing the company in negotiations, arbitrations, and court proceedings when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with the HR department on employment law matters, including dispute resolution.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance working environment.

Qualification Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in an in-house counsel role.

Experience Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of contract law, with a proven track record in drafting and reviewing agreements.
