    Senior Export Logistics Analyst (Cape Town)

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Production Planning Control & Delivery: 

    • Responsible to Analyze all Ford Customer Releases and translate them to meaningful and achievable weekly build schedules for Suppliers (Canners & Coaters) and to be in line with their approved capacities.
    • Forecast planning, delivery and stock holding of PGM coated substrates on rolling basis in co-ordination with FMCSA Management and IMG Regional Finance Teams.
    • Meet Production for Local and Exports Schedules and Production to schedule on both weekly and monthly basis.
      Responsible for key CATS Export Logistics metrics as part of tracking and maintaining Cape Town Supplier KPIs against CATS Department set targets – ensure leading metrics are tracked and initiated with action plans.

    Supply Chain Management:

    • Oversee all Catalytic Convertor Exports from external Suppliers - Maintain 100% supply of parts for all assigned OEM Customer Plants and Aftermarket Divisions
    • Responsible to meet Zero Line stoppage by ensuring all materials made available from Local Coaters and Canners and liaise with Ford Tier 2 directed Suppliers (both local & international)
    • Responsible for supplier delivery metrics, release adherence, identifying supplier constraints.
    • Responsible for release analysis periodically and proactively identify constraints in the supply chain to de-risk production schedule adherence.
    • Monitor and maintain correct inventory levels as required by each individual Customer Plant on weekly assembly shipments and as required by FMCSA on stock levels on Bailed PGM coated substrates.
    • Review Supplier shortage daily for a period of the next day + 2 weeks, maintain 5 days rolling forward assembly stock for Silverton SEZ / Sequencing Operations to ensure Ford Silverton production continuity.
    • Project Supply issues and shortages for CATS Suppliers for the next 8 weeks rolling forward emanating from schedule increase/process issues and secure production continuity via an equitable MOT to protect Ford Global Customer Plants.

    Inventory & Engineering Change Management:

    • Responsible for performing Quarterly Cycle Count audit for high value PGM Coated Bailment Substrates at a Regional Canner in Cape Town and as per FM schedules and drive actions based on root cause analysis for loss variance. 
    • Track all engineering changes and ensure changes are supported through MTC process from MP&L perspective with minimal / zero obsolescence.
    • To ensure MCRP adherences, SNURK score card metric/process are monitored on daily basics.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supporting all Catalytic Convertors Global Customer Vehicle Operation Plants without disruptions or with zero- line stoppages
    • Maintaining minimum Inventory levels as stipulated by FMCSA Guidelines on Monthly Budgeted and Forecasted volumes.
    • Keeping cost at absolute minimum Zero, avoid Airfreights and keep Obsolescence at absolute minimum.
    • Maintaining Supplier Information Matrix in excess of 95% for OEM plants and above 85% for Ford Aftermarket Service Divisions
    • Maintaining Zero delinquencies on MCRPs, Zero Major / Minor OICs and Maintain an all Green SNURK Scorecard monthly.
    • Maintain PGM coated substrates Tracking sheet for BOMs, PGM Loadings for PGM recovery on scrap.
    • Ensure accuracy in processing all relevant transactions on CMMS and escalate and resolve within 1 working day with Supervision where there are mistakes done or incorrect transactions passed through on CMMS3.
    • Six Sigma driven mindset and methodical approach to be applied to all investigations and projects raised.  Proven track record in problem solving, investigation techniques.
    • The ability to monitor, coach / direct, and facilitate the whole Supply Chain on Engineering Changes (new parts Engineering Introduction and current parts Engineering Run-out) - Lead Supply Chain while project managing the introduction of the solution with PD, Supplier/Purchasing, IT & Manufacturing Engineering.
    • Proven ability and MP&L knowledge to develop MP&L strategies and lead effective continuous improvement.
    • Ability to interface with Senior Management, Suppliers / Customer management and cross functional teams. 
    • MP&L experience in inventory management, Production Planning, Material Receiving, Shipping & Coordination and the ability to effectively communicate with Shipping Liners and Freight Forwarders
    • Exceptionally strong self-starter, process thinker
    • Experience in MTC process and MP&L program deliverables including defined launch metrics / Engineering Changes

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Engineering / Purchasing / IT or above, major in Logistics / Purchasing / IT / Engineering or equivalent degree.
    • Master’s degree Automotive/ Manufacturing/ Logistics engineering is an added advantage.
