Robotics Software Engineer at OffWorld

Our team is seeking a dynamic Robotics Software Engineer candidate who has a passion for robotics to:

• Design, Develop and implement software to control hardware such as machines and sensors developed by the company 
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical and electrical engineers to help guide the hardware development to ensure seamless integration with the software stack 
• Maintain and improve existing software  
• Test and debug software and hardware  
• Attend company and client meetings when required  

To hit the ground running, you need:

• a degree in:
  • Electrical/Electronics Engineering (4year) / Computer Science / Computer Engineering/  Mechatronics  
• 0-5 years experience in software  
• Proficiency with Object Oriented Languages:
  • C++ (preferred) / Python (preferred) / Javascript / Other languages that carry over the OOP principles (Java, C# etc)  
• Familiarity with source control (Git) 
• Familiarity with web technologies, RESTful APIs/ React / NodeJs / Express  
• Proficiency in documentation and diagram generation 
• Proficiency with business tools such as MS Office
• Bonus skills:
  • Firmware and microcontroller software / ROS/ROS2 (Robotics Software libraries) / Computer Vision / Linux experience 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
• Strong capability with troubleshooting to establish the root causes in a break of either the hardware or software.
• Understanding of deadlines, milestones and deliverables.
• Understanding the dynamic between a multidisciplinary small engineering team.
• Excited to learn new technologies.
