    Quantitative UX Researcher

    Job Description

    • Design @ Old Mutual is currently going through a scaling and growth phase in order to more substantially contribute to our Vision of being “Our Customers’ 1st Choice” by championing “Mutually Positive futures”.
    • The Design team currently consists of Service Designers, UX Designers, UI Designers collaborating closely with UX Writers. New to this multidisciplinary team, are Qualitative and Quantitative researchers, Design System Lead as well as the Design Operations Manager. You will be the first official Quantitative UX Researcher within the Old Mutual Design team.
    • As a Quantitative UX Researcher your goal is to enable the Design Practice to effectively leverage quantitative data to answer design questions and provide insight to product development. You will be the champion of numerical and statistical approaches to Design research.

    As a Quantitative User Experience Researcher you will lead the Design Team's efforts in:

    • Quantitative data gathering and analysis
    • Defining and tracking Experience Measurements
    • Interfacing with our Data Science and Advanced analytics teams
    • Multivariate testing and continuous Experimentation approach
    • Personalisation on Digital Platforms
    • Driving Digital growth and Sales

    Collaborate with:

    • Data and analytics teams
    • Design Chapter Leads, Designers & Qualitative Researcher
    • Product Owners
    • UX Designers
    • Engineering
    • E-commerce and growth teams
    • Customer experience

    Responsibility

    • Ownership of measuring and interpreting in-product/on- platform behaviours
    • Promote data literacy within the Design team
    • Define and operationalise user experience measurement KPI's
    • Ensure the integrity of quantitative evaluation of hypotheses and experience outcomes / Intended user interactions/behaviour
    • Generate insights to inform hypothesis regarding product usages as it pertains to growth, sales and ultimately [Positive experience outcomes | Financial | Wellness | positive futures]
    • Lead the creation of experience quality dashboards for Journeys on digital platform / ecosystem
    • Identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations that are actionable, focused on supporting experience-related design and product direction decisions

    Technical Expertise

    A deep understanding of quantitative research methods:

    • A/B & multivariate testing
    • Quant / Summative Usability Testing
    • Card Sorting
    • Tree testing
    • Surveys

    Proficiency in the following toolset:

    • Google analytics (for web and app analytics)
    • Firebase
    • Tableau

    E-Commerce and Journey optimization

    Business Acumen

    • Experience working in Digital
    • Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
    • Thought leadership and caching in your area of
    • Continuous Experimentation 

    Management Effectiveness

    • Develops peers and possibly direct reports through mentoring and coaching.
    • Drives operational excellence through area of supervision.
    • Leads service delivery.
    • Accountability for managerial work, including selection, performance management and talent management.
    • Contributes towards operational capability enhancement (people, process and technology) for digital experience design - facilitates feedback loop between execution and capability
    • Manages supplier relationships in delivery.
    • Needs to report on and hold accountability for the performance of the Quantitative Research chapter
