    Public Relations Officer

    Requirements:

    Education:

    • A relevant and recognized tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Hospitality management, Tourism or Event Co-ordination 

    Experience

    • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite 
    • Ability to work independently, accurately and well under pressure  
    • Excellent verbal and written commutation skills by being able to write accurately and professionally in multiple formats, with the correct amount of detail 
    •  Well organised and methodical, and pays attention to detail.  
    • Provide a high standard of customer service to all internal, external customers and work partners 
    • Retains focus and energy 
    • Takes initiative and demonstrates a positive can -do attitude 
    • Is trusted by others and is able to be professional and behave in confidence at all times 

    Accountability:

    • KPA ‘s not limited to the below: 

    Tasting room duties: 

    • Shared responsibly for consumer satisfaction of the Brand Home experience by conducting informative wine tours and tastings. 
    • Present detailed cellar tours 
    • Present all pairings thoroughly 
    • Table service at expected standard 
    • Wine knowledge to be at expected standard 
    • Ordering of stock for pairings and consumables for tasting room 
    • General House keeping 
    • Control daily bankings and cash float  
    • Manage brand home stock and minimise losses  
    • General administration, procurement, and budgeting 
    • Create invoices for wine orders and visits to our tasting room 
    • Management of the info@ mailbox and timeously responds and action all emails or forwarding to relevant parties within 48 hours 
    • Coordinate the procurement of office supplies and consumable for the brand home. 

    Souvenirs: 

    • Managing, ordering, restocking, and sourcing appropriate stock 
    • Manage stock levels of all souvenir items 
    • Source new souvenir items 
    • Service staff training 
    • Manage the thorough training schedule of all new service staff 
    • Act as a mentor role for all service staff  
    • Manage discipline and ensure correct conduct of service staff in the brand home 
    • Create and schedule testing and examination for new signups and new wines and vintages. 
    • Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders that deliver desired results 
    • Build effective relations with clients and suppliers to adhere to service level agreements 
    • Communication, behaviour and action resulted in a high level of credibility, trust, and respect among stakeholders 
    • Personal Development and Teamwork 
    • Take responsibility for own development and contribute to team effectiveness. 
    • Agree on personal performance goals and achievement thereof. 
    • Demonstrating the Distell Corporate Values. 
    • Drive own development to ensure knowledge and skills remain current.
