    Project Manager (KG) - Johannesburg

    Description

    Purpose of Position:

    • Plan, deliver and track projects using different methodologies to meet project milestones
    • Lead a team of Project Engineers and subcontractors to deploy systems at customer sites.
    • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplined internal stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are deployed on time and meet requirements.
    • Manage the installation, configuration, commissioning, and training for systems to customers, achieving a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the deployment process
    • Proactively manage project-related software and hardware-related issues.
    • Focus on achieving customer outcomes, a high level of customer satisfaction

    Major Areas of Responsibility:

    • Work collaboratively with Sales Team and customer to ensure contracts, scopes of work and terms and conditions are unambiguous and beneficial to company. Identify business risks
    • Develop standard project-planning deliverables, including, but not limited to, schedules, work breakdown structures and execution plans.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. Foster positive relationships between the internal team and customer representatives.
    • Manage a multi-disciplined team consisting of engineers and vendors from varied disciplines as well to effectively deploy complex systems
    • Work with customer and internal team to meet project milestones on time and in budget.
    • Proactively track and report on project issues. Manage internal stakeholders and customers to deliver technical and non-technical solutions for issues.
    • Track projects against budgets (time and cost). Provide regular project updates to internal stakeholders
    • Identify and implement improvements in the deployment process.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering systems and services to the highest standard Responsibility for project resource allocation, budgets and quality outcomes
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Project Engineering team, to encourage team building and coaching / professional development of team
    • Engage with all relevant stakeholders to ensure optimum usage of company products and solutions and a positive end-user experience for the customer
    • Actively develop and nurture a culture of continuous improvement, learning and development and cross-skilling (sharing of knowledge) within Project Engineering team
    • Manage delivery under pressure and in conjunction with other stakeholders from other departments
    • Compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself / herself and the safety of others
    • Other duties as required from time to time

    Minimum Requirements

    Knowledge & Experience Required:

    Desired Qualifications

    • Relevant Tertiary Education (Degree or Diploma in B Eng Degree / BSc Computer Science)
    • Project Management certifications or formal training

    Minimum Requirements

    • At least +3 years of proven Project Management experience within the Mining IT and ICT environment
    • Experience with Mining Technical Systems
    • A proven track record dealing with system implementations

    Experience

    • Commercial experience delivering projects in line with the business strategies
    • Proven experience delivering projects on time and budget
    • Sound knowledge of risk management principles and practices and ways of mitigating those risks to an acceptable level.
    • Strong sense of urgency, being able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise where necessary.
    • Considerable experience in a leadership role directly responsible for engineers or related staff
    • Strong communication and leadership skills, including the ability to provide direction to local and remote staff
    • Exposure to the Mining industry is preferred

    Travel

    • This position involves travel and overseas travel to support and deploy company products in the field. Travel to and from site will be in addition to the standard hours required to work on site
