Production/Excise Manager at The Heineken Company

Key Performance Areas include (but are not limited to):

• Ensure effective Planning & Execution of Blending & Maturation Activities, including loss management
• Effective variance reporting – L&M, Production Order, Bulk, etc.
• Effective stock management
• Ensure departmental compliance with relevant Internal Control Checklists (ICC) – Cellar, Bulk Stock and Procurement
• Compile and manage annual OPEX budget for Blending & Maturation departments, including variance reporting
• Responsible for Customs and Excise accounts and ICC’s
• Liaise with local SARS office to ensure operational compliance with Customs & Excise requirements
• Maintain a high SA Spirit Quality Index (Quality Themes)
• Perform role as member of the Wellington tasting panel
• Achieve Supply Chain Excellence (E² Targets)
• Drive departmental savings projects pipeline
• Effective leadership and development of subordinates
• Responsible for ensuring HSE related compliance in Blending and Maturation departments

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, experience, skills and attributes:

• Relevant Diploma/Degree  
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a leadership role
• Sound knowledge and understanding of all Excise requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent leadership qualities
• Attention to detail orientated
• Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure
• Organised and results driven
• Must be a team player with strong networking abilities
• Good problem solving ability and reconciliation skills
• Advanced SAP knowledge
• Punctuality and attendance reliability
