Job Purpose
Work with the Business Design Lead to craft and innovate business models using design thinking processes for desirable propositions to enhance overall strategy and make Nedbank more disruptive and aggressive to existing and new-to-market competitors. To support the innovation process and creation of disruptive opportunities for the bank.
Job Responsibilities
• Solution design across multiple technologies/products
• Drive the stakeholder understanding & strategy creation within projects and business development overall
• Analyse the market (competitor and target segment) and provide market insights for the design team
• Analyse the client’s business and build the business drivers
• Build and develop business models for projects to succeed
• Conduct Process designs and contribute to the creation of service roadmaps
• Take responsibility for the quality of business design and successful delivery of work in this area
• Develop innovation frameworks that can translate into business models that have utility
• Provide business consulting on pitches, workshops and other new business projects as required, thus ensuring a strategic approach
• Craft the storyline and content creation for strategy-focused pitches and recent business presentations
• Support the business development team with strategic input, client meetings, presentations
• Collaborate with Design and strategy teams to weave business design approaches into Nedbank design and establish it as a core discipline
• Foster knowledge sharing in Business design across different teams, projects, and offices
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges and opportunities and to help identify and prioritise their near and long-term goals
• Partner with a diverse group of designers to create new and evolve existing products, services, and experiences to promote a positive impact on our clients
• Use discovery-driven planning and financial modelling to explore the business model possibilities behind design concepts and to shape and influence their design
• Prototype and pilot actual transactions with ideas to build confidence in the business model
• Design business models that enhance and extend consumer experiences
• Design organisational structures and strategic assets to help the business support the latest offers and drive innovation
• Collaborate with Product Owners and other business Stakeholders to understand their business challenges and opportunities and to help identify and prioritise their near- and long-term goals.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
Design Certification from an accredited Design School
Minimum Experience Level
• 4- 6 years of experience in a Business Design role
Types of exposures
• Relevant industry experience (business design, design strategy, business or IT (Information Technology) consulting, Digital Strategy). Candidates with different years of experience will be considered for corresponding career levels.
• Demonstrate fluency with the human-centred design process and an ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience in designing applications that balance user needs, commercial interests, and technological constraints
• Demonstrated fluency with the human-centred design process
• Strong understanding of the innovation lifecycle and how to develop a business model to support the innovation process. Ability to function, adapt and succeed in a constantly changing environment
• Experience in business development from lead generation through proposal writing and proposal delivery
• Experience in working in multi-disciplinary design teams
• Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently
• Ability to function, adapt and succeed in a constantly changing environment
• Proactive, self-sufficient, and professional, with strong organisational, time management and communication skills
• Solid understanding of design tools: Sketch/Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Miro
• Solid knowledge of prototyping with InVision/Sketch/Figma
