THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

• You will be responsible for ensuring a sound administrative control environment within the Commodities Procurement division. Your position will be responsible for ensuring proper contract management, maintenance of control measures to ensure the balancing of all Safex transactions with physical contracts, weekly reporting on position statements for the various commodities, assisting in the identification of supply risks and mitigation thereof, and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements. The role will require working closely with the Commodities Procurement Director, the various Commodity Managers as well as the grains administration and payments team in Isando. You are required to play a pivotal role in understanding the control environment and minimizing control weaknesses as far as possible.

• Good communication skills and be able to liaise with a variety of non-financial functions
• Strong initiative and confidence to handle complexity, work under pressure and manage short lead-time deliveries
• Strong computer and accounting skills
• Strong experiences in procurement process controlling and be able to identify the problems timeously.
• Experienced in financial reporting and analysis, control design, implementation and monitoring thereof.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Recommended experience levels
• 2 years experience in the agricultural commodity environment
• Strong logistical background.
• Completion of the JSE Safex Exam
