    Procurement Accountant

    Description

    • Facilitate and manage raw material procurement including the accurate recording of the cost of sales expenditure and the related compliance

    Requirements
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • B Com degree or equivalent qualification
    • 3 years financial related experience

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Ensure compliance with all financial control measures and that all transactions are recorded in line with the relevant policy and procedures manuals, standards and DOA (Delegation of Authority) 
    • Ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained to avoid low maize/wheat stock levels
    • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of approved invoices, comparing invoices received with POs
    • Create purchase orders for additional grain raw material purchased outside of the monthly milldoor
    • Update the invoice archive schedule with invoices received, compare the invoice archive schedule to captured invoices and follow up on any differences 
    • Follow up on any differences between month-end stock reconciliation, stock balance in the trial balance and stock balance available on Milling’s folio
    • Facilitate selling of excess stock where needed, as instructed by Financial Director and Senior Buyer
    • Analyse and match mill GRN’s with GM/other supplier invoices for payment, and ensure all discrepancies are resolved with GM/other suppliers before payments are made  
    • Ensure accurate reconciliation of balance outstanding/payable to ensure timely processing of payments   
    • Provide monthly analysis of the cost of sales items by site to enable operations to make informed decisions    
    • Analyse month-end grain management silo reports and follow up on any variances in the handling and storage fees of maize delivered on folio, and the handling and storage fees on Non-GMO maize
    • Stock transfer costs  Capture all Handling and Storage invoices on SAGE in the correct period Forward payment instructions to the creditors' department   
    • Most recent approved prices are used for all packaging costs processed   
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all Safex-related transactions
    • Ensure procurement complies compliance with the standards set by Sagis, the Department of Forestry and Agriculture, and other industry legislators
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of items to the general ledger accounts Compliance with laws, IFRS and other relevant standards Accurate and timely reporting
