As a manufacturing professional, you deliver high value to your team by being able to learn multiple operator functions, consistently operating equipment at expected performance levels, and acting as a team player to exceed safety, productivity and quality goals. Ideally you also:

• Hold a National Diploma in either Chemical, pulp and paper or production management.
• Have a minimum of 5 years experience with tissue manufacturing (advantage).
• Have sound technical knowledge.
• and the ability to organise and maintain plant effective control

Your Job

The process technician is primarily the manufacturing plant technical support with regards to the day to day operation of the plant. They are responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet the specifications, that assets performance is in line with Kimberly Clark best practices/benchmarks, departmental targets are met and Housekeeping maintained in-line with EHS standards. They serves an additional purpose of ensuring technical knowledge transfer and coaching to operations personnel.

A few of the main responsibilities include:

• Provide technical control and leadership to the manufacturing plants so that this process operates at the highest productivity and profitability levels.
• Participate in the design programmes that maintain occupational health, safety and housekeeping of the highest standard.
• Provide technical health checks inline with tissue manufacturing requirements
• Provide professional engineering knowledge and expertise for the solution of Mill daily operating problems.
• Audit and make recommendations for the solution of problems relating to production, cost and quality of all production to assure the attainment of Mill Objectives and compliance with government regulations.
• Statistical analysis of process and quality data
• Continuously seek innovative solutions and lead by example.
• The incumbent is responsible for liaising with the chemical and material suppliers
