Principal Technician - Telecommunication Quality Assurance at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant National Diploma or higher or N6 plus additional two (2) years’ post-qualification experience or a three-year telecommunication Electrician type (example P&T Trade test) qualification plus additional two (2) years’ post-qualification experience or vendor (Cisco, Huawei, etc.) Certified Network
• Professional qualification plus additional two (2) years’ post-qualification experience
• A minimum of five (5) years’ telecommunication fibre, civils, inside plant and equipment experience on build, quality control, acceptance and work sign off
• Quality control or assurance certificate or qualification will be an advantage
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a critical technical environment
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas

• Provide technical expertise on acceptance and handover of installation or change
• Conduct quality assurance inspections on completed installations to evaluate it against SOP and M&P
• Manage the process to address non-compliance business improvements, training and assisting line Heads
• Provide input into SOPs, installation specifications/standards and acceptance documents
• Compile engineering reports in quality assurance findings
• Provide input into a quality management and quality management system
