Picker/Packer at Servest SA

Job Context    

• Servest Office Services ,a division of the Servest Group has vacancies for warehouse pickers and packers.These are for the central and west branches and reports to the Operations Manager.A suitable candidate must be have experience in the hygiene or cleaning services or similar industries.Must be available immediately .

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the similar position
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform tasks under pressure and within a deadline driven environment
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as a primary job responsibility
• Capacity to lift and carry heavy items intermittently during a typical work shift
• Must be technical minded and willing to learn

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, neat and well-organized.
• Packing incoming stock away, taking inventory and reporting shortages.
• Keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Picking orders as requested by management.
• Placing containers on pallets, and securing with stretch wrap, shrink wrap and strapping.
• Loading and unloading trucks /vans by using jacks and forklifts.
• Complying with OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Assist with handling of orders from warehouse management or inventory
• Compare and inspect physical items pulled to the requirement of the picking slip
• Pack/Wrap orders as required 
• Operate any material handling equipment following the established safety guidelines
• Participate in conducting warehouse inventory counts as and when required
• Any other reasonable and lawful warehouse and inventory tasks
